man what a wild day out there in charleston! woke up early, hit the water at sunrise around 6:15. it was kind of muggy and you could feel a storm brewing. i was using this new red drum tackle setup i got, 7ft rod with a medium action and a nice spinning reel. dropped some live shrimp in the shallows. first hour was slow, then BOOM! had a nice 28-inch red drum on! fought like a champ but finally got it in the boat. caught two more after that, both around 24 inches. the wind picked up around noon and started getting those thundery clouds rolling in. def gonna hit that spot again, hoping the weather lays off a bit. tight lines, folks!
