went back to raystown, rain was light but chilly. hit a couple spots along the shore and got a few bites, but ended up with only one 3 lb walleye. used a crankbait, which seemed to do the trick! wind was a bit tricky but I persevered. always great to be out here, even when the fish are shy
cloudy day at raystown, felt like a blank canvas for fish. did a bit of fly fishing and it was pretty slow. ended up getting a couple small bass, nothing to brag about. was using a popper but they just weren’t interested. still enjoyed being out there. sometimes it’s just nice to relax and try!
man, the rain just doesn’t want to quit. fished the same spot as last week and it was a bit muddy. caught 2 decent channel cats, both around 2 lbs. used stink bait, which was kinda smelly but hey, it worked! felt like a long wait but worth it in the end. still love fishing this lake, despite the weather
finally some sun! took the kayak out today and it was so nice on the water. managed to land 3 nice trout, biggest was about 2.2 lbs. used a gray wooly bugger, and they were loving it! felt like I could’ve stayed out there forever. even saw some other folks catching too, was a good day on the lake
what a cold day! went out this morning and it was pretty nippy at 9 degrees. didn’t catch much, just a couple small panfish. it was super windy too, made it tough to cast far. only got to fish for a few hours before heading back. hoping for better luck next time. gear was solid though, just need the fish to be biting!
