Fishing was excellent today. Most of the tuna were 70-125 lbs. they
started biting in the gray and continued just until dark. We released
all of them except Al kept a 197 lb. tuna and Craig kept one that was
187 lbs. We also had a few wahoo mixed in. Weather is gorgeous. We
are going to give it a try again tomorrow. Lunch was Chili Colorado,
hors d'oeuvres were shrimp, crab claws and sashimi. Dinner was tuna
Baja (that's a tuna fillet split and stuffed with avocado and crab meat
with a sweet teriyaki ginger sauce to top it off).

Polaris Supreme returned October 14 under skipper Drew Henderson's hand. Drew took his 23 anglers on a seven-day adventure, returning to Fisherman's Landing, where he weighed the best of the catch.
"We had a very good afternoon at the Bush," (San Benitos Islands) said Drew, "and we spent some time looking for kelps. Alijos Rocks gave us some really good yellowtail fishing in the dark. We had four or five fishing going. We also tried Guadalupe Island, where we got a few tuna but saw very little."
"We had a couple hours of very good dropper loop yellowtail fishing," Drew wrote October 0, "on 25-35 pound fish in the morning. When that slowed we stayed busy with smaller grade tuna and the occasional mahi. We made a tour and got the anchor back down around lunchtime and had the same action but with an occasional larger model tuna being hooked. We hooked 10 and landed four 50 to 60-pounders. After dinner the few that still had the energy to fish all caught several more of those big yellows before we took off at 10:00. We're now spending the day traveling up the line and will be arriving to finish up the trip at Guadalupe Island for a day and a morning."
The certified scales provided the winners. Dennis Sewell of Walnut creek won first place for a 68.2-pound tuna.
"It took a lot of line," remarked Dennis. "It fought for a half-hour."
Sewell baited a sardine on a 2/0 Eagle Claw hook tied to 40-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon leader and 40-pound P-Line, and fished with an Accurate 870 reel and a six-foot rod of unknown origin.
Jake Hamstra of Tulare won second place for a 66.6-pound yellowfin, and Tom Kroes of Tipton won third place for a 60.2-pound tuna. David Richardson of Hacienda Heights stood in with the winners, with his 52.2-pound wahoo, a fish that took his trolled Catchy Tackle spinner head jig in pink and black.

We finished up our trip today hunting bluefin. They weren't very friendly today. In fact they were down right mean. We saw a tremendous amount of fish today but very few would bite our lines. All day long we were stopping on schools and we have 22 fish to show for it. All of them were nice ones with the biggest going about 60 pounds. !st and 2nd will be easy, figuring out 3rd place in the jackpot may take a while. Alot of 45 pounders to weigh I think.
We're headed in. Tommy's taking the next one out, and I'll be on board.

We had a very very good afternoon of yellowtail fishing today. The grade was 16-22 pounds with some going larger. We took off at dark and will be looking offshore tomorrow for wahoo and dorado.

Good evening everyone,
Today we started off the day in kelp land. Finding many nice kelps along a nice water color break. One in particular held a slew of different game fish. Dorado, Wahoo, Yellowtail, and Tuna. Most of them where on the small side, but it was still great fun catching such a variety of fish. Later on we were able to slide inside and finish off the day with some coastal Yellowtail. It was great ending the day with a nice hit on the Yellowtail. Biting the iron very well, adding to the fall 10 day variety pack.
We are pointed north at the moment trying to cover some ground to make it in on time Wednesday morning.
Will report again tomorrow,
Team Supreme

Good Evening,
Our last day of fishing started off early and i mean 0230 early! with the kites out and everyone soaking baits and dropping jigs down hoping for that early morning tuna bite , a few fish were hooked but won their freedom, Once the sun came up we went into search mode again, We found the wahoo and tuna under bird schools very willing to take our baits with the wahoo began charging the boat in packs, with only a few hours to fish before heading for the cape, We put our fair share of them on the boat before calling it a trip. We are now headed for Cabo!

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 08-02-2019
We did not do any fishing today, strictly a travel day. We woke up well south of the yellowtail Dorado kelp patty zone for the local fleet. Whether traveling down is great this morning. I would not want to be going the other way it looks down right crappy. The boys just rig tackle chowed down on some great food by Roger and did some serious napping. Oh yeah and there was quite the poker game. We will be fishing tomorrow and hopefully have some great reports.
The Polaris supreme crew!
