    Our morning started off hot.  We had some very good tailing for about 1 1/2 hours on the 16-22 pound grade.  We managed to get a few fish per rod in that amount of time frame before things went dead around 8:30.  It's OK, we were expecting that.  We stuck with the plan and looked for yellowfin after that and it wasn't long before we connected.  We had 2 good stops and one great stop on the yellowfin tunas and scattered small stops the rest of the day.  They were a bit on the small side but that's what's around here so we fished them.  After that we drove out of the zone to put ourselves in position for tomorrow and didn't catch much the rest of the day.

    We'll be tailing it again tomorrow looking for the bigguns down below first thing in the morning.  The weather this morning was great.  It got a little windy in the afternoon but it was OK.
                                

 

Captain Ryan Bostian from San Diego Sportfishing out of Seaforth Landing checked in.  Very good Yellowtail fishing at the islands the last couple of days.  Our next available trip is Monday the 27th.  Grab your Yellowtail gear and come join us.  Passports required!

Wow what a great day! We had an awesome morning bite on the Dorado. Big bulls and cows. We took a break at lunch and Pedro prepared a Southwestern 10 oz. burger that was delicious. He really nails the menu with his creative spices and herbs. Back out on the deck we had excellent fishing on the wahoo throughout the whole day. And then to finish up the day we caught some yellowfin tuna. Just a great, fun day. Dinner tonight was a spicy ginger shrimp curry. Another great dish. Our weather all day has been beautiful. I hear it's been crappy up above and hope it lies down before we start up the line.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-23 to 25-2019 We arrive this morning from our three day trip. We left last Sunday with very high expectations. Only to get them crushed over the next three days. There had been a week straight of fantastic yellowfin tuna and bluefin tuna fishing. It all came tumbling down on Sunday. We definitely hit things on the backside at the very bottom of the bell curve. We managed to scratch up a few nice tuna after getting an early start out on Sunday but all the big hits came that morning. Monday we were able to find one school of good grade yellowfin tuna that stayed with us a while that gave us hopes for the rest of the day being good fishing. It didn't turn out that way though we only picked up another handful of fish throughout of long day of searching. Tuesday we had plenty of action but it was mostly on skipjack in the morning with a mix of smaller grade yellowfin tuna. We hammered out the day until dark with not much luck. As we all know It makes a huge difference on timing when you get out to the fishing grounds we just missed it by a few days. We had a great group of anglers that stuck with us Trying hard all throughout the three days. Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 30 passengers and we caught 3 Bluefin Tuna, 82 Yellowtail and 30 Bonito. We had very good sign of Bluefin Tuna today.

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute gave us a wrap for todays trip, it was a light load of only 11 anglers and it turned out to be a great day on the water. We ended the day with limits of Yellowfin Tuna, 44 Yellowtail and 1 Bluefin Tuna. We have another 1.5 day trip leaving tomorrow night, if you want some Tuna or Yellowtail for your 4th of July BBQ now is the time. Aug 13

Once again we weren't holding the lucky horse shoe in the tuna grounds today. We saw some fish in the morning but not a lot. Around lunch time up until after 6 we saw several schools that for us, wouldn't stick with the boat. Some of the boats found some that stuck which for a boat that didn't can be quite frustrating. We're going to stick it out here for our last day tomorrow. We have plenty of time tomorrow to locate biting fish and that's what we'll do. The weather was good today. A little windy late but the forecast for tomorrow looks great.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in this morning with an update form the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. The boat is out today we haven’t heard from them yet. We caught 4 Bluefin Tuna over 100 pounds. This is once in a lifetime opportunity. We only have a handful of reservations for tomorrow. We are a definite go! Please be sure to be prepared with a heavy rod. We recommend at least a 50 pound outfit. You can also bring a lighter outfit for the Yellowtail. Listen to the audio for all tackle details.
