 Today was mostly a travel day for us.  We did have a nice little surprise in the morning.  We had a double jig strike on wahoo.  Then we had a couple more singles.  Then we had one more single a little later along with a few dorados.  When we got to the yellowtail grounds in the afternoon we found mucho wind.  It was blowing 25-30 knots right through the grounds we were planning on fishing so we fished elsewhere.  We found a little spot with some current before dark and we captured 6 cow yellows, we're talking 30-40 pounders, to go along with lots of 10-12 pounders and some bonito.  Action is what we call that.  We now have to head north and we'd like to find some dorado tomorrow.  It's going to be a bumpy/windy ride up tonight and we hope for it to back off tomorrow for our fishing and ride home.
 

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-06-2019 The Polaris supreme departed today on Bill Stephens annual eight day trip. We got a nice early start and are hoping to arrive at our final destination in a few days bright and early. We have a great group of guys/and one girl heading south excited about the signs that Alec saw last trip on the simpatico trip. No pictures yet will save that for when we start catching something. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-08-2016 Hello Everyone, Another great day here. Today the surface action was second to none. We had some really nice hits on yellowtail in the morning. Lots of surface iron and flyline fish. As the day went on it slowed to a steady pick. It seemed spots of breezing and pushing fish were the hot ticket today, so tomorrow we will keep our eyes peeled in search of them once again. Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. We had a couple good shots today. Our 25 anglers ended up with 20 Yellowtail and 20 Rockfish.

Come on out fishing we us now. We have been having light loads and the weather has been great.

211 yellowfin 2 bluefin out of one 5 mile drift. Hook size is crucial in getting bites. Match the hook size to your line size and bait. Check with the crew on the way out to make sure what you’re tying on is what we recommend.

Captain Ryan Bostian from San Diego Sportfishing checked in.  43 pass. 145 yellowtail 15 bonito.  Flylined bait yo yo and surface iron.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in this evening with a report from the San Diego. We had a private charter with 37 anglers. Captain Taro put the charter on 137 Yellowfin Tuna, 22 Yellowtail, and a few Skipjack. Tuna fishing remains excellent. Now that the kids are back in school we should have excellent fishing with lighter loads and less pressure. We are moving into San Diego's prime months of September and October. Talk to you later!

Saturday, July 6th, 2013

Hi friends. We just finished up breaking down tackle, scrubbing/freshwater rinsing the tackle, scrubbing the boat, cleaning the upper deck, and putting fresh line on the handout tackle for our 6-day trip tomorrow. With all the chores completed, I'll give everyone a rundown of our daily events.

The bluefins eluded us today. Well, they eluded our sonar, fathometer, our baits, our hooks, etc. You name it, and they eluded it. We did see plenty of fish but they were all scattered out all over the place. Jumper here, jumper there, single sonar pop here, single sonar pop there. Absolutely no substance to any of it. Very frustrating to say the least. Our tuna count was nothing to write home about but we had a backup plan that we worked to perfection.

After getting the slip from the BFT, we managed to locate numerous kelps and had ourselves a couple of good stops on some Yellowtails to salvage the day. The gang had a rollicking good time and we ended our trip on a high note. Speaking of high notes, our sea conditions were once again fan-freaking-tastic today. The wind, mist, and chilly air kept us bundled up but it burnt off by lunch and we got in a mini bronzing session.

So that was our day in a low cholesterol peanut shell. We went the distance for the gang today and are burning the midnight oil. We stayed out late for Archie and company and our ETA for tomorrow will be 0900 hours. We'll be turning around for a 6-day adventure and we will be guided under the stong hands of Drew "Strong Hands" Henderson.
