patoka lake Fishing Report 2024

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute called in a very enjoyable fishing report, we ended with 99 Yellowfin Tuna, 9 Dorado and about 40 Skipjack Tuna. We got on a kelp late and had to leave them biting, the weather was has been great and looks like it will that way for the rest og the week. We do have some spots on upcoming trips, our Wednesday trip is a go for sure and we have some room on most other dates. Capt Mike Pritchard called in late last night with a report from the Tribute, they had absolutely fantastic Bluefin Tuna fishing they have seen. They ended with 72 Bluefin Tuna up to the Mid 30 lb range, we also got some Yellowtail and Bonito to round it out. The 2 fish limit for Bluefin has not gone into effect yet, so we can still keep 10 Bluefin per angler in US waters. Give us call and get in on this fantastic Tuna fishing while you can.

Ryan Bostian called in at the end of the day to update the San Diego's fishing day, "We had 16 fish real early in the morning. We had another good shot at them in the afternoon, we ended up with 29 Yellowtail on the boat. This style of fishing and this size of fish I would say that we are landing about half of the fish that we hook. We did lose several of them today, but that is just the name of the game when you are fishing this size fish. It seems that some days we are fishing 15 to 20 pounders. And other days we are fishing 20 to 30 pounders. Today was definitely the nicer grade of fish. I'd say the future looks bright at Coronado Islands as long as the water doesn;t do something wierd and get cold and dirty. There seems to be plenty of Yellowtail around. Just about everywhere we see some sign of fish. Some days they bite, some days they do not. Man they are definitely in the area and I expect this spring is only going to get better for us.

Once again today we went out with 30 passengers and came back with 29 Yellowtail. Fly line sardines were the best bet today. Come down with some 25 or 30 lb. and some 2/0 hooks, bring a yoyo rod just in case and you will be good to go."

We scratched for a few yellowtail and a handful of wahoo. We also release a lot of small yellowtail. The weather is excellent and prospects look great for tomorrow!

Fishing and the weather is still excellent! However we have had our fill of those albacore so we are heading south for some dorado and yellowtail. Dinner tonight was incredible. Pork with some amazing yummy sauce. Susan said we still have a couple of opening on our next two trips. Take some time off and come out and get into some of this action
