Hello everyone, We had a fantastic day of fishing today. Great Bluefin tuna fishing. The fish were 20-40 lbs, and were biting extremely well. Great action from sunrise until 3 pm. Hopefully we have similar action tomorrow. We will be targeting Bluefin as well as Yellowtail. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

We scratched away at some excellent grade yellowtail today. Really nice quality. Most over 30 lbs. The weather is flat calm, gorgeous. We hope the volume of fish we are seeing will bite better tomorrow. Susan said we still have some open spots on the upcoming five days if you can get away give her a call. Thanks, Tommy and crew

Hi friends. A lack of bigger fish was the main culprit for our day. Hard to not be spoiled with the previous two days but our weather was very pleasant and that smaller fish (12-22 lbs.) got on us, so out Tuesday was not lost. We did manage a handful of those bigger YFT's and BFT's and we'll be on the final leg of our hunt tomorrow. Oh yeah, today was also just a fine day to eat food. Sushi Schooler and Sushi Shawn kicked out some sushi, beautifully seared bluefin, yellowfin poki, and all the goods to go along with it. Not bad for a couple of round-eyes. Anyhow, Polaris Supreme and like I said, our weather was awesome and it's looking to repeat itself tomorrow. Hopefully --fishing wise-- we can repeat Sunday and Monday. Check back tomorrow and we'll hopefully finish this trip off with bang. Peace be with you, and also with you.

Oh yeah. Before I go, we're going to be giving you a brand new segment to our daily reports. It might not happen everyday but chances are it's going to happen on the reg. The new segment is called "Reasons We Make Mark Clark Wear A Hard Hat". If you've been following our reports, you'll know that last trip, we caught a big yellow hard hat and without hesitation, promptly gave it to our beloved deckhand, Mark, to wear for the duration of his career on the boat. So, without further delay, here is how our new installation will go.

Reasons We Make Clark Mark Wear A Hard Hat.

Reason #1:
When fishing for squid, all one must do is drop the squid jig down, bounce it a little bit, raising the rod up and slowly dropping it back down while keeping the line tight. When you get a bite, the squid latches onto the jig with its tentacles and all you have to do is wind it up. That's all. But last night, history was made. While fishing side-by-each with Mark --Drew and I witnessed this with our bare eyes and still can't stop reliving this gem-- the jig was no more than five feet below the surface and as Mark was jigging, the strike came. A squid was just about to latch on to the end of the jig and all of a sudden, something we've never seen before happened. Mark set the hook. He set the hook! And I don't mean like, he gave it a little tug. He set this thing like he was Jimmy freaking Houston at the Bassmaster Classic. If we were kite fishing, we would've shown this hookset as a perfect example of how to set a hook once your kite baits have been eaten by a two hundred pound tuna. Thankfully, no one was hurt as the jig and sinker went flying into the side of the house at Mach 2, and we now have a brand new little blog baby to share with the world wide web. We hope you enjoy. 14 bluefin 9 yellowfin 1 yellowtail 1 bonito. Saw enough fish to get a big hit but unfortunately they were not in the mood today. We did see more plus sized models in the mix. We recommend 40lb-60lb line for all techniques.

We fished our first day of the 5 day offshore kelp hunting. We saw plenty of kelps most having mucho yellowtail and mucho dorado on them. Unfortunately they were not in the moods to eat. We scratched out 60 mixed fish for our efforts today. We're heading for Benitos Island to fish for the night and at least a few hours in the morning. If it doesn't look good we will shoot down to the next island, Cedros.

27 yellowtail 130 assorted rockfish 5 calico bass. For a brief period this morning the yellowtail reacted a bit better than the last couple of days. Hoping it’s a sign of things to come.

We started off the morning with a few strikes on sonar schools of yellowfin tuna. We thought we were on the right track but things soon slowed down to virtually nothing. A few of the guys were seeing schools up above us, big schools but weren't producing much more then we where. We went and check those out and it looks like there schools of bluefin with a little bit of yellowfin mixed in it of course the bluefin don't bite. We spent part of our morning looking at eight giant kelp patties for two bites on yellowtail which we lost. Right now it's about 2:10 we have 20 yellowfin on board and were wondering where in the heck they're all at. We have good weather and six more hours to look wish us luck.

We departed nice and early on Paul Hess's annual 5-day charter. Every year Paul puts together a great group of guys. Most are always repeat customers, but I saw one or two new faces this year.

Everyone is anxious to get out there and get their lines wet. The prospects look good for albacore, yellowtail and yellow fin. Our weather is good for the start and lets hope it stays nice. Thanks for checking in!
