may 21st was mixed weather, got some moderate rain but still had a good time. caught one nice northern pike, maybe 6lbs? used a spinner and boy did it surprise me when it hit! a bit wet but worth it, fishing's always an adventure, right?
went to newton lake on may 11th, partly cloudy day and felt so nice! caught a few smallmouth bass, nothing huge but they were feisty and fun! tried some topwater lures and they worked like a charm. felt good to have a chill day out there with friends.
on may 7th, finally saw some improvement in the weather! was still overcast but warmer, about 11.5C. caught a few nice bluegills on the fly rod, best part was it felt sooo good to be out in nature. hooked one that almost got away, heart was racing for sure!
may 4th was rough... heavy rain shower when we got there. decided to brave it tho! caught a couple of tiny bass, but mostly just got soaked. used my trusty spinnerbait but honestly was mostly just trying to stay dry. never fished in such rain before! lol
fished newton on may 3rd, still overcast, and wow it was cold too. only caught 1 walleye, but it was a beauty around 5 lbs! used a trolling rig and my favorite rapala lure, the way it hit was thrilling! feel like I could do it all day, just great to be out.
