Newton Lake Fishing Report

fished through patchy rain on the 22nd, temp at 9.6°C. didn’t catch much, just a couple bluegills but enjoyed the quiet. the wind was strong at 21 kph making it tough to stay steady. still, saw a nice heron out there, so peaceful. better luck next trip!

went out in the rain on the 21st! it was drizzling but I was determined. temp around 9.5°C. got one 3 lb catfish! using a stink bait, it worked surprisingly well. wind was decent but I was soaked by the end. still love fishing, rain or shine!

another cloudy day at newton, caught 2 keepers but they were kinda small. weather was cool at 9°C and the wind picked up a bit, like 26 kph. tried drifting around the points but no luck there. maybe next time! can’t wait for some sunshine!

went fishing on the 18th, overcast again, temp around 10°C. only got one small bass but saw a lot of action near weeds. used a frog lure but they were picky today. wind was a little high at 18 kph but still fun to be out there. hoping for better luck next time!

what a day! overcast but warmer at 16°C on the 13th. the bass were biting like crazy. got 5 nice ones, biggest was about 5 lbs, all on a wacky rigged senko. had a few missed bites too, but overall felt like a fishing god. wind was only 15 kph, so made it easy to fish the edges.
