new sea angler Fishing Report 2024

Today was one of those days in which our anglers and ourselves will probably remember for the rest of our lives. Not because of the amount of fish we caught, but the tremendous shows these fish put on. It all began this morning when we found a fishy area on our way to a spot in hopes of wahoo, tuna and grouper. We spotted a nice bird school in some beautiful looking water. When it first came into sight, still a couple miles away, we saw some 30lb grade tuna jumping around in the middle of it. When we got up to it, the scene was a bit different. The tuna were pushed off of it by a jumbo school of big stripped marlin. And what a show they put on for us. A couple of our anglers presented their bait or jigs in the right place and the right time and hooked into these big beautiful fish. They where tail-walking and jumping high out of the water everywhere. On top of that, we were constantly seeing free-swimming marlin on all sides of the boat. Some even came within five feet of the boat! There were literally hundreds of marlin around the boat. It was truly a sight to behold! Finally, after battling and releasing all the marlin we hooked, we carried on making our way to one of our spots that has been extremely productive for big wahoo, tuna and grouper the past couple months for us. When we got there we quickly boated a couple handfuls of very nice mid-sized yellow fin tuna. Even though the tuna where present, there was little to no sign of wahoo. All of our anglers having wahoo on their mind, we decided to make our way to a spot about nights run from where we were. We will be there at the crack of dawn tomorrow. We fished this morning without much luck. The one that we did hook the shark ate. So this will be another chapter for Bob Vance in his charter diary. Everybody had a great time and we look forward to seeing them all back again next year for Bob's annual trip. We will be in to the dock at 5:30am. We depart on Garry Roberts 9-day tomorrow morning. Myself as well as the crew are anxious to get down to Alijos. The fishing reports have been really good and we are looking forward to having our own great reports. Polaris Supreme Trip Reports 08-03-2016 Today's trip has us departing on Henry Hampton's four-day trip. This is Henry's second year chartering the boat and it looks like he has quite a few new anglers. One thing about them looks the same though there are excited to get out and get at some good quality fishing. So off we go! We left the bait receivers with some of the most ratty bait that we've seen all year. Luckily we have a good supply in our center slammer that we have been rat holing for a few trips now. Departing this afternoon judging our options we have decided to try a little something different there is some new good-looking water and signs of yellows in a new area. As always happens the old areas are drying up fast. We have good weather today and a forecast of good weather tomorrow wish us luck. The Polaris Supreme crew!

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP UPDATE 10-03- 2020 Socked in fog today and this is all eye ball fish! We caught 1 fish in the dark and one mid day. It finally started biting late, bit into the dark and turned into a fantastic day. all Bluefin today 25-55 pounds. The seas where flat calm and look like they will be for a few more days. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-18-2016 Hello Everyone, Today we had a fantastic day of offshore fishing! We got on a school of big yellowfin that bit all day! The best part was the grade, an average of 50 to 80 lb fish! Amazing to have such good size biting fish in striking range from San Diego in California waters. We had a blast today bringing these fish aboard. Many people finished the day with their personal best tuna in the hold! The hot ticket was a good fresh flylined bait, and in the afternoon we hit our stride with balloon fishing. The balloon was deadly during the latter part of the afternoon. Fishing is very technical now. Lots of Tuna but mainly being hooked with a well placed cast in a Tuna foamer. 

They are mainly biting surface lures.

Including:

Colt sniper stick baits 

Poppers 

Colt sniper jigs 

Tady 45 or Salas 7x surface irons 

Be ready to cast and be ready for action.
