 Hello all.  Things went smooth today at the landing.  We got in first, pre 5:30 AM and we had our peops on by 7:30 with our last climbing aboard before 9:00 and we were gone.  Gone to the bait receivers.  I was sure of what we were going to get.  Straight 2 day old sardine.  I told everyone we'd be fishing our way down to the wahoo grounds.  It's hot water down there so I didn't want to bring that bait down there too soon in case it would all die.  But things were different at the receivers.  They had that little mackerel we got a couple trips ago.  So we loaded up with that because I'm pretty confident it will live good in that 80+ degree water down below.  So as of now, we're headed straight down  to the wahoo/tuna/yellowtail/dorado grounds.  At least we hope it is.  We'll start down there and if we have to work back up to make a catch we will but hopefully we can just make a trip of it down below.  So that means we travel today, tomorrow, and arrive the following day hopefully by mid morning.  We'll see what kind of speed we make.

 Today was nice.  We hauled but in the morning, but after getting bait and putting her on course, the rush was over.  We have been fishing the first day out on every trip since early August, so this is quite the treat not fishing today.  We love to fish over here but just relaxing, not having to rush to get the seminar done and rushing to get the loaner tackle out was really nice.  I took a nap.  It was pretty cool.  I'm showered, rested and just sitting here writing to you folks.

 

~~Sept. 2
 We hit the yellowtail grounds today. Not until 9:30. I started looking at 0400 but we weren't there until 9:30. "There" is where we had some good tailing. There's not a whole lot to write about it. We were there, and they were hitting. Most everyone was dropping jigs down and winding them back fast to achieve there tails. Before lunch I was considering fishing yellowtails tomorrow morning before traveling all day to put us in position for tuna the following day, but when I went in to eat lunch, there were 10 fish in the box. The crew dropped them, when I came back out there were 3 in the box and everyone was leaning against the rail not fishing except 3 passengers and 1 of those had 1 hanging. I got the hint. They caught enough yellowtail and they want tuna now. So we'll be traveling all day tomorrow to put ourselves in position to fish bluefin the following day weather pending.

 The weather today was windy, but the further north we get now the less wind there is. It's a nice ride now.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-21-2016 For anyone that wants to go out and fish the local tuna outside San Diego that has been biting consistently we have a day and a half trip leaving on Sunday at 6 PM fishing Monday and coming back Tuesday morning at 6 AM. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, a good broken record, we had another great day of Wahoo fishing! It didn't stop there from dark on we had a great nighttime bite on Quality yellowtail, absolutely a beautiful grade. Talk about burning the candle at both ends of the stick! You guys leaving on the Ahi charter on the 22nd make sure you have plenty of the medium-size marauders in your tackle box. Not every day but some days the sharks are really really bad eating marauders and the Wahoo on the marauders. Anybody wanting to get in on some of the best action I've ever seen on these eight and 10 day trips we have openings on our limited load 10 day trip on November 22. Today we saw incredible sign of 25-40 bluefin tuna. Make sure you bring a 25 lb bait rod to go along with your 40,50 and 60 lb rod.

Hello Everyone, Last night was a slower than the previous nights for tuna. In the morning we focused on Wahoo. We were rewarded with a couple stops for Wahoo and a handful of 20lb Yellowtail. We will be working up tomorrow. We will be in search of Yellowtail. Wish us Luck, Team Supreme

July 10

Slow day in the long range tuna grounds today. It didn't take long after day light to find what we were looking for as far as bird life and dolphin life goes and it was in the area that we fished on the way down and did well and where other boats had done well too in the past few days but this action had been in the afternoon and we were there first light. Things hadn't gotten with it yet. The fish weren't there. We couldn't wait for the afternoon due to us needing to be in San Diego tomorrow so we had to keep her rolling. We saw nothing else for 30 miles other then a few jig strikes for a bakers dozen. We bumped into some common dolphin around lunch time and we caught some tuna with them but it was short lived. The dolphin were being mean and not cooperating. We did nothing after that and called the trip at 3:00 in the afternoon.

The weather was choppy first thing, then smoothed out until around 2:00 and got choppy again. We're having your average rough ride home. It will be a good test for all the bolt holes from antennas that we took off and replaced. No water dripping in the wheel house yet. I think we're good.

We'll be getting in tomorrow at 7:30 in the morning and we'll be turning around for 5. See ya later.

23 pass. 75 yellowfin tuna from 12-20 lbs. please bring a 20 lb bait rod a 30 lb bait rod. An optional 4th outfit should be a 40 lb rod to fish an 80-100 gram colt sniper.
