navarre pier Fishing Report 2025

Today was one of those days that make you appreciate biting fish. We saw plenty of fish but, it was hard to get close to them or when we did get close getting a reaction was even harder. Tomorrow is a new day !

Hey guys, the yellowtail counts at the Coronado Islands have dropped a bit the past couple of days. There are a couple reasons for the slower fishing. First reason is the south wind we have had for the last two days. This south wind has dropped the water temp a few degrees therefore making the yellows a little less active. The second reason is the seal ions have stepped up there game. In the last three days we have lost at least 40 yellowtail to the lions. Good news is , the south wind is predicted to end by the end of today. Starting Tuesday we should start to see the water begin warming again. With the warming water the yellowtail should get more active making them easier to hook. With the seal ions acting as a tax collector it just comes down to the fact that we need to hook more fish. When we are hooking more fish both the seal ions and us can get our share. The best way to hook these yellowtail has still been a flylined sardine on 25 lb. test. The Coronado Island yellowtail have not gone anywhere , they are still there. We just need the water to warm a tiny bit so we can start catching them again. Look for better counts in the next few days. Today's photo is of a father and son with 3 yellowtail caught on Saturday. Quality family time in the outdoors is what it is all about ! Polaris Supreme Report 07-14 -2016 #2 Well our yellowtail bite we had going on this morning never ended. It lasted almost 12 hours. Constant action all day long! Surface iron fish was insane! Everything we threw at them pretty much got bit. What a day and what an amazing grade these fish where! Definitely the best yellowtail fishing we have had this year! The plan for tomorrow is to use this beautiful weather to our advantage to hopefully load up on some Tuna! Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-22-2016 Today was the same but very much different. It was the same in that we woke up very tired from nighttime fishing for yellowtail last night, it was the same in that we had excellent Wahoo fishing today, it was the same in that we had great weather. What was different was the way we caught the Wahoo. It was all on the anchor. So now we have caught Wahoo on the anchor, Wahoo drifting when they wouldn't bite the jigs, and Wahoo in giant shark Malays trolling. And one other different thing we had great fishing on tuna today. We haven't seen them for a couple days but today they did us right again. We're going to start working up the line and aren't sure if we going to have any time to fish left. We got a long ways to go home! It has been an absolutely fantastic trip in absolutely beautiful weather with a great great group of anglers who are now going to take some long long naps traveling home while breaking down their Tackle. Sien On and his charter group got a quick shot in the bottom of the ninth. They landed 31 yellowfin 8 yellowtail 2 bonito. A small hook and 20lb fluorocarbon got most of the bites.
