fished mosquito lagoon today, thundery skies and some wind but we pushed through. got on the water at sunrise, just before 6:30. started out with a topwater plug, had a couple blow-ups but no hookups. switched to a soft plastic paddle tail and bam! landed a nice slot redfish, probably about 24 inches. felt good to finally get one after the slow start. then we moved to some mangroves, found a few snook lurking around but they were kinda skittish. got a couple good bites but they spit the hook. it started to rain a bit which made for a refreshing break from the heat. all in all, it was a chill day with some good excitement and a nice red to send home. didn’t get skunked so that's a win! hope to hit it again soon with better luck on the snook. cheers!
