missoula mt Fishing Report 2025

Hello Everyone, Today spent the morning catching some great premium Yellowtail with some Bluefin mixed in. The second half of the day was spent searching for larger grade Bluefin Tuna. We eventually found an area of larger fish. Ranging in size from 50-130lbs. We managed to land 2 in the 60 lb class. Nice to see that there are still larger ones around. We are in tomorrow and out again for 3. Will Report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

65 yellowfin tuna (15-25 lbs) 129 purple skipjack aku tuna.  The skilled bait fisherman with a 20 lb setup and #2 hook was hooked up all day today.

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute called in a very enjoyable fishing report, we ended with 99 Yellowfin Tuna, 9 Dorado and about 40 Skipjack Tuna. We got on a kelp late and had to leave them biting, the weather was has been great and looks like it will that way for the rest og the week. We do have some spots on upcoming trips, our Wednesday trip is a go for sure and we have some room on most other dates. Hello Supreme Fans, We started our morning off at one of the lower banks. Having talked to one of our code group boats that had fair fishing on bigger grade tuna. At first light we started to catch skipjack tuna and a few grouper. By mid morning we pulled the pick and started to go look around for that boomer school, and we found one! but it was not to be for us as the school didn't want nothing to do with us. After lunch we dropped the anchor and started to get some school size tuna to bite. We stuck it out there for the rest of the day and it paid off Tom Studley hooking and landing a 110 pounder. Just before dinner we pulled the anchor and headed for the bait grounds to restock our bait supply. Wish us luck. The Supreme Team.

Aug. 20
    Another fantastic day out here for us.  We had a great nights sleep.  The boat just gently rocked us to sleep just like a baby.  We tried for a gray bite but only caught one.  It didn't take long looking for a school before we found one.  We short stopped 15 yellowfin and then it didn't take long to find another deal and that one was good for a 2 hour drift.  When that dried up it didn't take long to find another one and that one was good for a 2 1/2 hour drift.  After that it was lunch time and we're pretty much done with the yellowfin.  We spent the last half of the day looking for bluefin unsuccessfully.  We're going to head for some new grounds.  And by that I mean some water I can't remember ever fishing in.  We have reports of some bluefin schools so we're going to check it out.  We'll be there first thing.  I'll let you know.

    The weather today got interesting.  It stayed pretty much windless through out the day so it remained similar to a lake, but around 9:00 in the AM it started dumping rain on us.  And I mean dumping.  Everyone on board scrambled for there rain gear.  I got to try out my new Aftco raincoat and it worked great.  During the down pour the lightning that was around got pretty darn close so I had everyone go indoors to wait it out.  It didn't take long to pass and we continued fishing and catching.  After that it stayed dry the rest of the day.  The boat got a nice fresh water rinse.
                                    

 

We have only 5 spots remaining on our June 1-6, 5.5 day trip! This trip is limited to only 18 passengers and is filling quickly!! Trip departs at 6pm May 31st, and returns 6am on June 6th. We will be fishing Cedros and Benitos targeting Yellowtail and calico bass. As well as fishing offshore for those early season bigger bluefin tuna! Ticket cost is $1300 per person. Captain Ryan of The San Diego checked in with a trip report for today.  57 Bluefin(15-60lbs) 14 Yellowfin (15-30lbs). About as good as it gets local Bluefin fishing. A 30-50lb bait rod was all you needed today.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we caught 2 Bluefin Tuna, 30 California Yellowtail and 1 Pacific Bonito. We never found the big yellowtail blowout we were looking for but we did see sign of Bluefin.
