michigan weekly Fishing Report 2025

Today was greatly disappointing after such a great fishing yesterday. Our efforts for better quality fish did not pay off. We saw great signs of 80-100 lb. fish but they just didn't want to cooperate. They would boil up good and look promising, but we only got a handful of fish. We are going to leave this place and give it time to straighten out. We are going to look for a new area. Our weather is still absolutely premium. Warm, hot and balmy. Thanks for checking in.

Bring a yo-yo rod if you are coming out with us tomorrow. There has been some yellowtail sightings in La Jolla.

Nov. 14

We traveled home today. Just one of those perfect rides. It was like we were driving in the bay. Flat calm is what I'm telling you. Just beautiful. The passengers broke down all of their gear in the morning and spent the rest of the day watching movies and taking naps or just chilling outside enjoying the ride while the crew did the end of the year cleaning. Spring cleaning you'd call it only in November. That's right, we have no more trips leaving the rest of the year. It's time for us to do the land thing. Time to get our land legs back, work on our golf games, plan our ski/snowboard trips, work off all the Polaris Supreme meals we took in throughout the year or whatever else it is we do during the off season.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-20-2016 As I'm writing this right now the boat looks like a ghost ship. The boys are down for the count, after our first day of phenomenal Wahoo fishing and another day of great Wahoo fishing tuna fishing and yellowtail fishing into the dark they are some whipped puppies. In about 59 minutes we are going to try to do it all over again. I'm really curious to see how many are up as early as they were the first day! Thanks for tuning in we will try to get you some more reports for the upcoming day. Don't count on them coming out to quick we've been swamped! And yes it is still great weather! Schools of bluefin where a little harder to come by yesterday fortunately we still where able to put together a day. 85 yellowtail 6-15 pounds 6 dorado and 3 bluefin.

July 28
    Today we had about as good of yellowtail fishing as you can get.  Quality to quantity ratio, holy Toledo.  18-25 pound fish and they were biting pretty much as full speed as yellows bite for a couple hours and after that it slowed down but they were still biting well for a couple more.  If you have read my past reports you know that surface iron fishing on big yellows is my favorite kind of fishing and it was pretty much wide open on the surface iron.  Holy Toledo!  I'm not the only one who felt this way either.  We have a Polaris Supreme first timer on board, his name is Josh and he may love it more then me.  He named his dog after a surface iron.  Tady.  How cool is that?  We've had a tank of mackerel on board for about 3 weeks and we finally let them go today.  On hooks that is before getting eaten by yellows.  In the late afternoon ewe looked for bait and found some a couple hours before dark and caught a tank full of nice mackerel.  We restocked our supply.  We made a couple drifts along a kelp line while the sun set and tugged on a few calico bass and now we're headed up to fish tuna tomorrow.  Sweet dreams.

Today we went out with 28 passengers and caught 6 lingcod 74 red rock cod and full Mexican limits of rockfish. Our rockfish were a nice mix of Boccaccio , bank perch , chuckle heads and whitefish. We looked around a little bit for yellowtail but unfortunately we never found a school. We are scheduled to fish everyday. Make reservations at 619-224-3383 if you would like to join us. -capt. Ryan

Mother Nature was kind to us today as we landed 164 yellowfin and 1 bluefin off of a 5 hr drift. Same tackle, a 20 lb bait rod and a 30 or 40 lb bait rod. Size 4 and 2 hooks.
