lynnhaven inlet Fishing Report 2025

 Hello again everybody. I hope everyone enjoyed a lovely Labor Day today. I know we sure did. It's hard not to with the kind of weather we're having right now. We could have not caught a fish today and we'd still be enjoying it. That's not how it went though. It went as planned. I knew we wouldn't have the kind of day we had yesterday. Wahoo fishing doesn't work that way. They need a rest after a whoopin. I told the passengers we'd stay until lunch and if we caught a quarter of what we caught yesterday we'd be stoked. We caught more then a quarter of what we caught yesterday and we're stoked. Distance wise it didn't make since to stick it out until dark for a few more handfuls of wahoo as apposed to leaving at lunch like we did to get into tomorrows fishing grounds at a reasonable hour. So we took off at lunch time and we'll be in the yellowtail grounds tomorrow at daylight. At least I'm hoping it's the yellowtail grounds.
 

Hello everyone, Today was a slow day. We spent it offshore working some great looking water stopping on kelp and other floating things. However the fish we found were not the most willing to bite. However we did finish the day successfully making mackerel for tomorrow. Hopefully the tuna and Wahoo have a taste for these local Mackerel. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Yesterday morning the fishing was great, but mid-day the fish went down. About 4pm we were back into some great action on the albacore and smaller grade blue fin. We also had some really nice hits on the yellowtail. Our weather yesterday and today is good. Today started slow with only a handful of albacore and bluefin. However the yellowtail fishing is fantastic! Thanks for checking in. Tommy and crew

38 pass. 16 yellowfin tuna 4 skipjack. Tough day today. There was good fishing in our zone but unfortunately we missed out today. We will try again tomorrow. Come out and be the first person to ever catch a yellowfin tuna on a 3/4 day trip in December.

Hello Everyone, Today we had a nice day of Yellowtail fishing. We were able to pick at Yellowtail for the first half of the day until around lunch time. The majority of the Yellowtail came on the YoYo jig. After that we were only able to catch Bonito and Barracuda. We have beautiful weather down here and will be targeting Yellowfin Tuna and Yellowtail tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Tuna fishing was good again today with nice quality tuna. We took off mid-day to hunt for some dorado and wahoo on kelps in the afternoon, but no luck. We will be on the Ridge tomorrow to sweep for wahoo. Our lunch today was an outstanding fresh tuna fillet with avocado, lettuce, tomato and wasabi sauce. We will update again tomorrow. Capt Ryan checked in from the San Diego to report that they finished yesterday's trip with 111 Yellowtail. We got a lot on the yoyo iron as well as the surface iron and flylined baits. Make sure you bring all your Yellowtail gear to be prepared, a 40 lb rig, a 25 lb bait rod and a surface iron rod.
