Lower Illinois River Fishing Report

another wet day on the river but it’s chill. not much action until the evening! finally hooked a small cat that was about 5lbs. caught it on a live shiner. gonna try to hit the water again tomorrow!

rain was heavy today, but managed to get a few bites. lost a big one right at the boat! sooo frustrating. fishing slow with jigs but the current was rough. still, loved the time out on the water.

tried my luck again at the river. light rain again. only caught 1 bass, but it was a solid 3lb. not the best day, but hey, better than sittin at home! using a soft plastic worm did the trick.

omg it poured today! went out anyway and got soaked but it was so worth it! caught a huge 6lb bass on a spinnerbait! so stoked! release it back, couldn't keep it but wow what a fight! just wish I had waterproof gear lol.

bad day for fishing with light rain, but I managed to snag a couple of smallies at about 2lbs each! tried using a crankbait, which was alright, just didn’t expect the rain. still felt awesome when they bit!
