Hello Everyone, We just departed on our annual AHI charter. Defiantly a great group of anglers who know how to have a little fun with each as well as put some fish on the boat. At the moment we have the outdoor speaker system hooked up and secure, a beautiful load of bait aboard, and the Supreme pointed south eagerly steaming to our destination. 8 Bluefin and 3 Bonito today for our group. The big one weighed in at 215 pounds gill and gutted (probably 240lbs) The fish was caught on a flatfall and 100 pound test.

53 pass. 167 yellowtail 25 bonito. Small yo-yo jigs surface iron and live bait were all working. Bring your passports and fish the technique your most comfortable with.

Polaris Supreme Trip update 11-25-2019 We woke up this morning to a beautiful calm day and a gorgeous sunrise! It looks pretty similar to the sunset we had yesterday. We had some good fishing on small grade yellowtail and a few more tuna for the boys. The Wahoo were definitely absent yesterday and today. Tomorrow that is going to be our main target species. We most likely will be coming in a day early on this trip sometime Friday or Thursday late. We've been watching that storm coming in over Thanksgiving Thursday and then continuing through Friday and we want to avoid getting caught in the middle of it. You can do these kind of things when you have a private charter! Right now the forecast for departing on Saturday looks like excellent weather as far as we can see on the forecast through the fourth of December. Thanks for tuning in! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Marlin In the Mix! Today we worked our way up and had a few hours to fish for some Yellow Tail. We did connect with some beautiful 18-22lbers, also mixed in were nursery sized 4-8 pounders that were released. A great pit stop for some quality fish! Pictured is an airborne Striped Marlin we hooked yesterday mixed in with the Tuna. Amazing how much life was around! Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

Today was one of those days in which our anglers and ourselves will probably remember for the rest of our lives. Not because of the amount of fish we caught, but the tremendous shows these fish put on. It all began this morning when we found a fishy area on our way to a spot in hopes of wahoo, tuna and grouper. We spotted a nice bird school in some beautiful looking water. When it first came into sight, still a couple miles away, we saw some 30lb grade tuna jumping around in the middle of it. When we got up to it, the scene was a bit different. The tuna were pushed off of it by a jumbo school of big stripped marlin. And what a show they put on for us. A couple of our anglers presented their bait or jigs in the right place and the right time and hooked into these big beautiful fish. They where tail-walking and jumping high out of the water everywhere. On top of that, we were constantly seeing free-swimming marlin on all sides of the boat. Some even came within five feet of the boat! There were literally hundreds of marlin around the boat. It was truly a sight to behold! Finally, after battling and releasing all the marlin we hooked, we carried on making our way to one of our spots that has been extremely productive for big wahoo, tuna and grouper the past couple months for us. When we got there we quickly boated a couple handfuls of very nice mid-sized yellow fin tuna. Even though the tuna where present, there was little to no sign of wahoo. All of our anglers having wahoo on their mind, we decided to make our way to a spot about nights run from where we were. We will be there at the crack of dawn tomorrow. Polaris Supreme docked under owner-skipper Tom Rothery's hand June 26, after a five-day trip with 24 anglers for yellowtail and albacore. Tom weighed the fish at the certified scales at Fisherman's Landing, where a 48-pound yellowtail took top honors.
Terry Emmert of Douglas, WY had the first-place winner. "I got him in about 15 minutes," he said. "He just kept pulling and pulling, and he kept getting into a stringer of floating kelp. He's my best yellowtail ever." Emmert said he fished a sardine on the flyline, using a 3/0 Mustad 91450 hook on 40-pound P-Line. He had an Okuma 20 two-speed reel and a Seeker Black Steel 6470 rod, wrapped by Bill Boyce. Michael Giardino of San Pedro was second, for a 43-pound yellowtail, and Mal Wagstaff of Douglas, WY was third, for a 36.2-pound yellowtail. Three generations of Pattersons were aboard, and they posed with their fish. Liam Patterson of San Jose is eight, and he goes to Santa Teresa Elementary School, where he practices karate. Liam caught some big yellowtail, and he also got and posed with a 24.4-pound albacore, which will serve to start off this season's tally for the largest fish of that species.

Liam's dad Lane stood in with the boy, as did John Danis and John Patterson, also of San Jose and from the Patterson family.

Capt Ryan Bostain checked in with a report for the San Diego for their 3/4 day trip today down south, we ended the day with 103 Yellowtail for our efforts. Mixed sizes today with a couple in the 10 lb range and a couple around 28 lbs, most were in the 15 to 18 lbs. They were mostly on the surface action today, with a few on the yoyo irons. Come on down and bring a 40-50 lb setup for the yoyo and a 25-30 for flylining and a 8-10 ft jig stick for the surface irons. The Tady 45s, Salas 7Xs or Candy Bars are all working well for the surface irons. Come on down and get in on this Yellowtail action while it is hot.
