        I slept in this morning.  Travel day.  I awoke at 5:00 and went straight to the
computer to see if we'll be bluefin fishing tomorrow or yellow-finning up.  Bluefin
it is.  10 knot flags out there all day tomorrow.  Nice.  So we didn't fish at all
today.  No reason to.  We traveled through 4 other boat wakes from yesterday and
they didn't stop the boat so we weren't going to cost us tomorrows fishing time to
try and prove them wrong.  I trust our code boats.  The weather traveling up has
been ideal all day long.  The passengers did what they do, movies, books, and
relaxation while the crew took it easy and did some chores at a reasonable pace.
We did a lot of organizing of things.  We went through crates and boxes and nuts
and washers and bolts and things like that and just made sense of it all.  The crew
even got around to detailing our beautiful teak rails.

        The bluefin reports sounded good today so we're excited about getting up there for
a couple of days to finish up the trip.  We'll either spend 2 days blue-finning or
we'll do 1 day here and go get our yellowfin on for the last day.  I'm not sure.
That's what's so exciting about it all!
I may not sleep well tonight I'm so excited.  Maybe it's because the 1.5 hour after
lunch nap I took and/or all the coffee I've drunken since then.  Not because I'm
tired, I just love coffee.  I'm kidding.  I'm sure I'll sleep fine.  I've been doing
this a long time.

        My daughter turned 5 months yesterday.  People say the time flies and they're
right.  It sure does.

Hello Supreme fans. We have finally hit our stride and started fishing.Unfortunately it happened to be right in the midst of some extremely tough fishing. Our first trip of the year was an Open party three day trip. We spent the three day searching the ocean for biting tuna as well as some inshore action. The tuna fishing was really slow but full of lots of spots of fish, and they were BIG. Bluefin well into the 150 lb class were around but not biting. We chipped away at some inshore fish and were able to put together a nice catch of quality Reds and Lingcod from the bottom. However the star of the show was hands down the jackpot fish. A 130lb Bluefin Tuna, a hard earned fish that ended in victory! These fish were big and did not make it easy to hook them or land them. Their size, abrasive teeth, and unwillingness to bite created quite the challenge.We did managed to hook 5 fish and only landed one. We are out on a two day after Independence day. Wish us Luck!  Good evening friends from the bridge of the Polaris Supreme. I'd like to start with a little recap of the Gary Roberts 9 day trip. What an epic trip! We really did cover all the grounds you cover on a 9 day and boated all the species that we were looking for. Although we didn't get the numbers on the dorado that we were looking for, we more than made up for it in wahoo and tuna counts. I really think Drew did an exceptional job of trip planning with avoinding any bad weather and putting us in position for the best fishing we could possibly have. I don't recall the last time in my 9 years on the boat that we've had that consistant fishing for the "skinny's" as we did. The guys fished hard and were rewared for there efforts. We ended the last couple days of the trip at the tuna grounds to pick up a handful of quality bluefin to settle jackpot and all you could eat beautiful grade of yelloefin tuna from 20-40 lbs. What an awesome 9 day! We really missed you this year Gary and look forward to seeing you back next year with the same group of awesome guys you bring out year after year.
 We also departed this morning on our 6th annual 5 day trip with Robin Gledhill and his Blue-White Industries charter. We are always excited to have these guys out with us. It's quite the unique trip with a special menu, different types of wine every night depending on the dinner all the way to our fancy dinner attire consisting of the classic tuxedo t-shirts! Love it! You never know what Robin is going to bring to the table. We started offshore looking around on the tuna grounds to get the lines wet, didn't find much to start, but fishing the first day of a 5 day is a bonus anyway. Tomorrow at the crack of light and get this party started. The weather looks great so far and looks just as good for the next few days, so let's hope the weather man is telling the truth.
 It's almost that time to head downstairs for some grilled pork chops and the wine of the night Chalk Hill Chardonnay, for the passengers of course. Robin also wants to send a shout out to Janet, Taylor who couldn't join us this year because him and his wife are due to have a little one any day now, and all of the rest of his friends and family that are tuning in over the next 5 days.
 Before I check out though, I do have to mention some day and a half and 2 day tuna trips that we've added here starting at the end of September. Today we we picked at the quality Tuna we have been after. Many successes before the sharks took their share. The fish were on both live bait and chunk bait. It was nice catching them on the chunk because we were able to use big hooks and heavy line. As opposed to small hooks and light line.

Pictured here is a neat looking Pilot Fish. Really cool looking blue fish with black stripes. They hang out with sharks waiting for bits and pieces from a kill to float back to them. Also pictured is a delicious sashimi spread prepared by chef Mike!

Absolutely a great day of fishing. From day light on we had excellent fishing on school grade yellowtail. Our weather is good and everyone is having a great time. We are off to look for tuna tomorrow. We celebrated with Alex Zarifis as he turned 80 today! Great way to spend your birthday. Thanks for checking in. Tommy and crew

42 pass. 2 bluefin tuna. We were around fish all day but never found the magic school. Another example of how truly special days like yesterday are.
