Hi friends. We departed on our second day and a half trip this evening and --to everyones surprise-- loaded up with some healthy looking sardines. We'll see how they live throughout the night but we're happy with what we see so far. Sounds like the fishing is good offshore on some footballs but those healthy bluefin made an appearance today as well. With a good looking weather forecast on the horizon, we're excited to get down to the zone and see what we can do.

We'll chat with you tomorrow and report on our day. Wish us luck and hopefully, we'll do better than the NFL replacement officials did this season. Take care.

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute called in a final count for their 1.5 day charter, they had some great fishing today. We had limits of Yellowfin Tuna, a couple Skipjack and a couple Yellowtail. We have been seing a little bit of Bluefin above the border, but getting them to bite is another story. All in all it was a fun day on the water, the quality of the Yellowfin has been up into the mid 30 lb range. Hi everyone. We had ourselves a slow day, plain and simple. We had a few jig strikes throughout the day and our big excitement was a blind jig strike for 10 of those 25-40 lb. yellowfin tuna. Other than that, we enjoyed lovely weather throughout the day and Charlie Middleton issued me my favorite nickname of all, Mr. Magnificent. It says everything that you need to know about me, thanks Charlie Murphy! Anyhow, we're currently en route to the area where we had a couple of kelps last trip for some quality yellowtail and dorado. Let's see if we can't pick off a kelp and get down to business. Wish us luck.

P.S. I'd like to wish my beautiful mother, Cindy, a very happy birthday. I hope you enjoy your day and I'm sorry that I couldn't be there with you. I'm going to catch you a delicious yellowtail tomorrow.

 Good evening friends from the bridge of the Polaris Supreme. I'd like to start with a little recap of the Gary Roberts 9 day trip. What an epic trip! We really did cover all the grounds you cover on a 9 day and boated all the species that we were looking for. Although we didn't get the numbers on the dorado that we were looking for, we more than made up for it in wahoo and tuna counts. I really think Drew did an exceptional job of trip planning with avoinding any bad weather and putting us in position for the best fishing we could possibly have. I don't recall the last time in my 9 years on the boat that we've had that consistant fishing for the "skinny's" as we did. The guys fished hard and were rewared for there efforts. We ended the last couple days of the trip at the tuna grounds to pick up a handful of quality bluefin to settle jackpot and all you could eat beautiful grade of yelloefin tuna from 20-40 lbs. What an awesome 9 day! We really missed you this year Gary and look forward to seeing you back next year with the same group of awesome guys you bring out year after year.
 We also departed this morning on our 6th annual 5 day trip with Robin Gledhill and his Blue-White Industries charter. We are always excited to have these guys out with us. It's quite the unique trip with a special menu, different types of wine every night depending on the dinner all the way to our fancy dinner attire consisting of the classic tuxedo t-shirts! Love it! You never know what Robin is going to bring to the table. We started offshore looking around on the tuna grounds to get the lines wet, didn't find much to start, but fishing the first day of a 5 day is a bonus anyway. Tomorrow at the crack of light and get this party started. The weather looks great so far and looks just as good for the next few days, so let's hope the weather man is telling the truth.
 It's almost that time to head downstairs for some grilled pork chops and the wine of the night Chalk Hill Chardonnay, for the passengers of course. Robin also wants to send a shout out to Janet, Taylor who couldn't join us this year because him and his wife are due to have a little one any day now, and all of the rest of his friends and family that are tuning in over the next 5 days.
 Before I check out though, I do have to mention some day and a half and 2 day tuna trips that we've added here starting at the end of September.  The pressure is off.  We never made it down to any Island today like we planned.  At about 9 am or so the sonar went clunk, clunk and we went sideways for an hour.  It wasn't the best grade but it definitely wasn't the worst.  It was this years middle grade. 8-14 pounds with a sprinkling of 16-22 pounders in the mix.  Like I said, not the best but not the 2-6 pounders either.  But for a stressed out 4 day captain, it was lovely.  They bit good for about an hour and then they backed off.  After that we dedicated ourselves to that zone.  We figured that school of 14-25 pounders was just right over there.  It wasn't.  We didn't see another school of tuna.  However, we did find a nice kelp loaded up with big yellowtail.  They bit really well for a while too.  In fact , they were on the corner like tuna get on the corner for a good 20 minutes and when they backed off the corner, they still bit good for a while.  Other then that though we didn't see much other then the occasional small tuna on the trolling jigs but we're stoked for what we got today.  The pressure is off.

 We're going to stick with the plan and spend tomorrow at an Island hopefully drifting for hours.  The weather has finally backed off after a couple weeks of blowing.  Hopefully we get some descent weather for a nice long stretch and can get back to fishing where we please when we please.
     

We arrived at the dock this morning at 7:30 and would like to thank Ron Heil again for putting such a great group together. We look forward to seeing you all again next year. We are off again with the Let's Talk Hook-up charter. Pete was unable to come but we have Ryan, who is also from the show, as our charter head. Needless to say he was happy to step in for Pete. Wish us luck and check in again tomorrow.

We had an excellent day of yellowtail fishing today. Jumbo yellows up to 46 pounds on our scale. Great weather the whole time. Hot and sunny and flat with a light breeze. Now we have to head north to get home. We're going to mess around with bottom fish for a couple hours in the morning then shoot offshore and try to find our lucky kelp.

100+ yellowtail out of the first stop this morning. Please bring a 25 lb bait rod and a 40 lb yo-yo rod. Reservations are very important as trips are filling up fast. Call 619-224-3383 for resos. A passport or a passport card is required.
