Captain Mike Pritchard checked in with an final wrap-up from the Tribute out of Seaforthl.  Today we had 27 bluefin (1 shy of limits) 2 yellowfin (first of the season) and 16 yellowtail for our 14 anglers today in flat calm weather.

Offshore kelping today was tough. Not a whole lot of action. Plenty of kelps with not much on them at times, and areas of water with no kelps in it. We had one kelp mid afternoon where we had some action on shaker size yellows up to 20 pounders and a kelp in the morning with a handful of dorado on it. We'll be at Cedros in the early morning trying to get a tank or two of bait and begin our day yellowtail fishing.

Here comes the 2008 season and I have some openings to share with you.  The First is a trip with the phiscadores, this is a 2-day which departs on Sunday night, June 22nd.  This trip takes a light load.  Usually 12 or 15 people. Email me for more details if you're interested. "Just what we had hoped for!" reported Owner-Skipper Tommy Rothery aboard the Polaris Supreme November 26. "We had a really fun day on some of the bigger grade yellowfin. We landed nine fish over 100-pounds. Charlie got one at 213-pounds and Gunnar, one of our first timers, got the biggest one for the day that weighed in at 230 pounds. He did it all by himself from start to finish. And by the way, he is only eleven years old. He also landed another one that was well over 100 pounds. Our weather is fantastic. We are hoping for another fun day tomorrow."

Captain Mike Pritchard checked in with an audio update from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay.  We have been drifting for 5 hours now.  We have 16 Bluefin Tuna in the 60 to 80 pound class.

What an absolutely, fantastic, unbelievable day. We had more marlin than you can imagine. We hooked and are released over 220.
The wahoo fishing was also fantastic. The group had a blast pulling in "crocodile" size wahoo. And we topped off the day with even bigger dorado than yesterday. The weather is good and we just had an awesome day on all three, wahoo, dorado and marlin.

We arrived today at the island around noon. There were plenty of fish but not as many bites as we expected. However most of the fish we did hook managed to come on the boat. We had a high landing percentage of the fish we hooked today. Not as bad of a shark problem today. Hopefully the ratio continues and we hook more fish tomorrow!

A good finish to a good trip today. It started off a slow morning like every morning of this trip started off. It being the last day we just traveled north all morning to increase our fishing time for the day. We bumped into a school of those 50-70 pound bft's mid to late morning and drifted till we were out of time. We landed almost 30 of those beauts before we had to call it and head for the barn. The weather today was great and the ride going up is ideal. The fillet and crab cakes were delish and everyone is tuckered out but me but only because I have to be up.
