Hello Everyone, Today was the ultimate tackle day. We spent the day preparing all our gear for the following days to come. Spooling up reels, wiring up bait leaders, bombs, and marauders for Wahoo. It was a nice day rolling down to take care off all of these things. Tomorrow we will start fishing. We have the opportunity for Yellowfin tuna, Wahoo, and Yellowtail all in the same spot! A great chance for some good variety! Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Oct. 13

Good afternoon from the Polaris Supreme. We returned this morning from our 6 day trip and off loaded our candy of the ocean. I'm not kidding you. Those bluefin are so darn good I could just make a shake out of them and drink them. I had the pleasure of getting my hands on a few this year and had the big fat belly of one last time I was off and the way I did it was so darn good I'm going to tell you how I did it for the people who caught those beauties this year. Salt, pepper and olive oil on the meat side. Put the belly skin side down on the grill and cook it through. If you flip it at all only do it for a few seconds at the very end. On the stove mix soy sauce, maple syrup and a splash of water and heat warm. Pour on top of fish and enjoy.

Big fish goes as follows: The big bluefins of the trip went from 68 up to 123 pounds, the wahoo was 58 pounds, and I weighed a yellowfin at 51 pounds and we caught several of those so some good quality fish there.

We departed on Joe Gigliotti's 2nd annual 8 day accurate adventure excursion quest outing journey tour ride drive cruise stroll trek trip this morning. Our bait looked mostly good. The last box we took scaled up after our first few scoops so I had the pleasure of taking part in my first bait bucketing. That's where you use buckets to scoop the bait as opposed to nets to put it onboard. It has it's advantages and disadvantages and one advantage is that it's a good workout. Holy moly. After that we had a lovely lunch and some lovely tackle rigging. I had a lovely nap as well and I jumped on the band wagon. I now started the Suzanne Collins Hunger Games trilogy. Richie and chef Shawn have book club meetings on them and I just couldn't be left out so here we go. Plus my David Lee Roth bio still isn't in, damn you amazon.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-07-2019 Nice travel day today! Good weather good company and great food. Oh yeah little bit a napping and to. Just rigged and traveled today will be arriving at our fishing grounds tomorrow. Looks like were going to have good weather for the next couple days. See you tomorrow. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

We fished this morning without much luck. The one that we did hook the shark ate. So this will be another chapter for Bob Vance in his charter diary. Everybody had a great time and we look forward to seeing them all back again next year for Bob's annual trip. We will be in to the dock at 5:30am. We depart on Garry Roberts 9-day tomorrow morning. Myself as well as the crew are anxious to get down to Alijos. The fishing reports have been really good and we are looking forward to having our own great reports. Polaris Supreme Trip Update 8-2-2017 Well I did find some photos of Tom Chaparros trip. One of the crew took a dozen pictures on his cell phone while he was running around working! As well as thinking Tom and the gang for a great fun filled trip I would like to extend a special thanks to Herb Yamanaka for bringing custom-made solid wood bowls to give out to all of the anglers and crew on the trip. Herb does this every year and the workmanship of his gifts are absolutely superb! Thank you Herb Tom and gang for a fun six days the Polaris supreme crew!

Iven moving on up! We had a great a day of fishing today. Our fishing started today at noon and we had non stop action all day long. We landed some nice Yellowfin tuna between 40-80 lbs. However with great tuna action came great shark action. Our resilient passengers were hooking these tuna very well, but the lurking Great White Sharks were hot on their tails. Eating a large majority of our nicer tuna hooked. Pictured here is Ivan with his prized tuna that he was able to hustle in through the sharks! Very different than last years fish ( other fish pictured). Great improvement!

There were many schools around and it took a lot of work but we got them to play!  There are Yellowfin Tuna schools and Kelp patty Yellowtail in the area as well.

We were able to get a great evening hit on the 60-100lb Bluefin.

Spent most of our day in search mode after spending 2 days on the beach. Late in the day the group effort was rewarded. We ended with 55 yellowfin (15-35 lbs) and 75 small yellowtail for 36 anglers. Some nice schools of bluefin were also seen in the same area. A 20,30 and 40 lb rod will be perfect.
