jemez Fishing Report 2025

These yellowtail are keeping us on our toes ! After two slow mornings in a row, we decided to start our trip out fishing sandbass. While we were catching bass for our mostly beginner group we got the word that the yellowtail were biting a little bit. After running the 12 miles to get in position we managed to land 15 yellows. These fish are 15-25 lbs. and extremely mean.

Please bring a 30 lb. rod to fly line sardines if you are coming out with us. Tomorrow we have a private charter but will be back to our open party run on Sunday. I will check back tomorrow.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 10-30-2018 Fishing was a little scratchy all day. We hooked one around for the day and landed most of them! The sharks were not too bad. Knock on wood. Our adversary today was the weather we had some gnarly wind up to 35 kn gusting over the island at times and then it would be slick not a breath of air. We found drifting work the best to keep the tangles down to nothing. The weather as far as roughness was good being in the lee of the island. We're going to do this for a few more days and are still very excited about our prospects. As you can see the fish we landed today are absolutely beautiful grade. The Polaris Supreme Crew

Hello everyone, Today we spent the day searching for yellowtail along the baja coast. It was very tough. However we did indeed find yellowtail, they were just very difficult to hook. Lots of bird life and scattered fish along the coast even big spots of fish splashing around. In the midst of all this life er only managed to put a handful on the boat. Tough day, hopefully we can get on some tuna tomorrow offshore. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Hello Everyone, Today we searched the Baja coast in hopes of Yellowtail. The conditions are not ideal. 12kt winds with the current going the opposite direction. However the Yellows did bite for us. All were excellent size and most were feeding on the surface and made for incredible action on the surface. We are headed up now may do some fishing tomorrow if the current permits. Well. That's a wrap ... We ended up with 51 bluefin tuna for our morning efforts and then we left. We also had a kelp for 19 cow yella. Our traveling weather is fantastic and our ETA is looking like around 0700 hours tomorrow morning and the boat will be turning around and departing on Mary Chaparro's 6-day adventure.
