Today we had a fantastic day on the water . Lots of action on medium sized Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, nicer grade Dorado, and even some Wahoo.
A fantastic mixed bag.
We cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this afternoon with an update from the Tribute. We are having very good Yellowfin Tuna just South of San Clemente Island. There is a mix of Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack, and Dorado. We have 180 Yellowfin Tuna and they are biting on everything. Today was tough fishing. We were able to hook and land more fish today and they were all better grade. The fish today were also more eager to eat bigger line and hooks as opposed to the ones yesterday. Because of that we were able to put the wood to them and bring them to the boat quickly. We had some shark casualties but nothing too extreme. In fact the ones that were getting chased by the sharks charged the boat to try and evade them. So as long was we were ready with a gaff and able to steer the fish clear from the propellers and rudders we had some fish that came right in.
Overall a tough but fruitful day.
Wee will be looking for kelp's tomorrow targeting school sized Tuna and Dorado.

When we go offshore on these trips we are basically looking for 1 good school. 1 good bluefin school if it’s in the right mode will stick with the boat all day and provide plenty of action. With that being said, today we saw 4 nice schools but only managed to land 1 tuna.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-05-2016
We finished up the trip nicely yesterday with great yellowtail and tuna fishing down below. It was pretty darn good! Unfortunately we have to travel all day today to get back to San Diego. As luck would have it though we have excellent weather traveling home! Thank you Henry Hampton for putting together another fun group of folks for four days of fishing. We will be in tomorrow morning at 6 AM to unload our catch and pick up a limited load of 20 passengers on Dan Ravta's annual five day trip! Thanks for tuning in this trip sorry we didn't have a few more pictures but yesterday was sheer craziness.

Rosemont Media private charter brought out 21 passengers and they “made them pay”. They landed limits of yellowfin before noon. We recommend having a rod to fish 30-50lb test when the tuna are eating everything in the water.
