59 bluefin 37 yellowfin. Quite a few bites on the 30-40lb flylined baits today. Sinker rigs, colt snipers and flat falls still getting plenty of action.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today we had 23 passengers catch 29 Bonito (8 to 10 pound class), 26 Lingcod and 85 Rockfish.

Today we had about 7-10 wahoo and several tuna. Four nice ones around 170 lbs., and some smaller ones (many released) 50-60 lbs. We lost 4 nice ones, 2 thought to be over 200 lbs. The guys are pretty tired putting in 36 hours of fishing time. Most only had 3-4 hours of sleep.

Very little signs of Albacore and Blue fin. Beautiful weather and good water. The albacore that were caught by the fleet for the day were very small, 7-11 lbs. And there was very few blue fin with them. Heading to yellowtail grounds tomorrow. Tommy and crew

No fishing today - it was all catching. Wide open dorado, yellowfin, and 30 plus wahoo. Did not matter what you cast into the ocean - sardines, maggie bay mackeral, wahoo iron and bombs - it was all awesome.Big dorado of the 30 lb variety, wahoo up to 40 lb and 15 to 30 lb yellowfin. Constant "catching" all day with only breaks to tie on new hooks and leaders. The crew show'd their experience as 17 anglers, all hooked up at the same time with flying dorado all over the place, untangled, gaffed and tagged with seamless ease. Everyone is tired and happy and settling in after a fine dinner of seared wahoo with mango ginger sauce, risotto followed by blackberry pie ala mode. Whats next? Heading after big tuna tomorrow and hoping for more of the same. A big hello to Terra and Finn. and also a big hello to Allison from Jim.

44 pass. 101 yellowfin Tuna 2 bluefin tuna. Being prepared with different line sizes and hook sizes is very important when targeting the highly pressured local yellowfin tuna. Capt Ryan Bostain checked in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing, today we ran offshore to search for some Bluefin. Yesterday we went offshore and got skunked, we made the decision to try again today and we are glad we did, we ended with 22 Bluefin for our 22 anglers. That doe not sound like great numbers but the quality more than makes up for it, they are running from 45 to 75 lbs. We are getting most of these fish on the surface iron so make sure you bring several set ups to maximize your chances. The crew makes all the difference in your success and our crew is on of the best in making sure if you hook up you will have a good chance at landing them. We probably had 45 bites mostly on surface irons and we did get a few on bait. We don not know how the bite will last, so hurry up and get down here and get in on this early season action.
