164 yellowfin tuna from 15-30 lbs and 1 mahi-mahi. Right place at the right time today. Flylined baits on 15-40 lb and small colt snipers and Flatfalls. Adjust your tackle based on the mode of the fish. Their mode is constantly changing so be aware and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Hi everyone. We had ourselves a slow day, plain and simple. We had a few jig strikes throughout the day and our big excitement was a blind jig strike for 10 of those 25-40 lb. yellowfin tuna. Other than that, we enjoyed lovely weather throughout the day and Charlie Middleton issued me my favorite nickname of all, Mr. Magnificent. It says everything that you need to know about me, thanks Charlie Murphy! Anyhow, we're currently en route to the area where we had a couple of kelps last trip for some quality yellowtail and dorado. Let's see if we can't pick off a kelp and get down to business. Wish us luck.

P.S. I'd like to wish my beautiful mother, Cindy, a very happy birthday. I hope you enjoy your day and I'm sorry that I couldn't be there with you. I'm going to catch you a delicious yellowtail tomorrow.

Hi Anglers

Well I tried to get a hold of Drew since four this afternoon to no avail. And that's usually a good thing...and indeed it was. Finally at seven he picked up and said he was getting them good. He had 117 bluefin, and it was all that nicer 25-35 lb. grade. It's amazing this fishing has been going on since June. I hope I don't jinx myself here, but it looks like we're heading for a record year here on bluefin.

Keep Cool when it gets HOT and HEAVY! We had fantastic Yellowfin Tuna fishing today. They bit very well and grade was excellent. 15-25 lbs average with 35-40lbers mixed in. The only thing hotter than the fishing was the Baja sun. Pictured here is chef Mike bring water to crewmen Ben and the rest of the passengers during a hot bite. 14 yellowfin tuna and 5 bluefin tuna. Once again, unbelievable amount of tuna in our zone. Most of the fish are strung out on tiny chovies making them very difficult to hook. A dedicated flyliner with 25 lb has a chance at a yellowfin. A dedicated flatfall or sinker rig fisherman with 50 lb has a chance at a bluefin.
