Oct. 8

We all slept in today as it was our first day off from fishing in a week. We had a later breakfast of pork chop, bacon, eggs and hash browns. After that we broke down and cleaned all of our big tuna gear and put away the harnesses and the terminal tackle and things. Then the crew scrubbed the boat to a nice shiny color while the passengers watched a movie or two. Then we ate cheeseburgers and they were great. And after that it was nap time. So we're all rested and we have a clean boat. We still have a little bit of live sardine left over and some time to use them so we'll be rolling by some fishable waters the next few days and if we see something we'll be able to stop and give it a try whether it be wahoo the next couple of days or bluefin the day before we get back to San Diego. The weather today was as good as you could ever ask for. Flat calm seas and the sun was shining. Lovely. Dinner was wahoo enchiladas and that's all we have to report.

Ryan Bostian called in with this fish report for the San Diego. "Today we went out with 36 passengers and we came back with 40 Yellowtail and 5 Dorado. The Yellowtail we are catching are a mixed size. Half of the fish were within the 8 to 10 lb. range. The other half were in the 15 to 20 lb. range. On this type of trip we have a high casualty rate. Today we landed 40 & I'd say we landed about 1/2 of the fish we hooked. If you're going out with us make sure you have some fresh fluorocarbon. If you are only going to use 1 rod, I would bring a 30 lb. fly line bait rod. If you want to be totally, totally prepred you might want to bring a 20 lb. live bait rod to fish an anchovy, a 30 lb. live bait rod to fish a sardine. And then a heavy rod, a 40 or 50 lb. rod to fish a Sardine as well. If we get at a good stop and they are biting a heavy line you might as well use that. Also if we run into some of the bigger Bluefin that are around, you'll want that 40 or 50 lb. rod. You can also check out our Facebook page we have a detailed tackle list there.

Come on down and see us. We offer these 5:30, 3/4 Day trips everyday. To make a reservation call Seaforth Sportfishing at 619-224-3383.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-25-2019 We got off on a nice early start on Joe Becks annual eight day trip. We have 24 happy smiling anglers excited to get at it and throw some fish on board. The bait we picked up at the receivers to complement what we already have on board looks good (although small) . Our weather is great the wind we have is out of the south which is not normal but it's good going. Have you ever heard of the term it popped up overnight? It happens in the desert around Thanksgiving for the four wheeling off-road enthusiasts. You see it happen in the desert with the snowbirds in the fall time were huge motor home and trailer communities pop up. It happens at Coachella and Burning man. And yes it happens on the Polaris supreme too. Last night there was no sign of them. But this morning there's a full blown rod forest on the back deck! The boys are enthusiastic to say the least. Well. That's a wrap ... We ended up with 51 bluefin tuna for our morning efforts and then we left. We also had a kelp for 19 cow yella. Our traveling weather is fantastic and our ETA is looking like around 0700 hours tomorrow morning and the boat will be turning around and departing on Mary Chaparro's 6-day adventure. Look for reports to continue from one of the boys. Take care and good night.

Reed Fiori checked in tonight with an audio update for The San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. Today we had 24 anglers catch 52 Yellowtail and 20 Bonito. We had plenty of opportunities today. The Yellows are currently down deep. We are catching them with heavy YoYo Jigs. Bee sure to use a large monofilament top-shot. We are also getting some fish on the dropper loop too.
