freshwater Fishing Report 2024

Aug. 31

Our speed remained slow all of last night and today until we were 10 miles above our destination. We didn't arrive until 3:00 this afternoon. We trolled the place up for a while for no srikes before getting the anchor down. It was great yellowtail fishing but unfortunately the grade wasn't all that great. What we kept was mostly 12-25 pounds but we did alot of releasing to get that. We're going to try a different zone tomorrow. There is still alot of water to be looked at and we're in the beggining half of our trip. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a night bite going tonight. The weather is just dandy out here. Light wind and it's hot. Lots of sunscreen being rubbed on out here.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in last night from the Tribute. We wrapped up our 1.5 day trip. We fished out West. We had 56 Bluefin Tuna (38 pounds), 52 Yellowfin Tuna, 38 Yellowtail, and other assorted fish. We have another 1.5 day trip that departs on Monday night. Not much to report today. We looked at a lot of water for not much. We found one jumbo school of tuna but it wouldn't bite. After sitting on it for over an hour watching them boil around the boat, everyone lost interest so we continued our hunt. A couple handfuls of dorado and one nice tuna later we decided to give it another chance. It's just to good to pass these beautiful grade fish up when they want to chew like yesterday.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-01-2016 Good afternoon Polaris Supreme fans. Today we ended our Chaparro 5 day trip with a bang!!! We found plenty of kelps holding yellowtail and a few dorado which put smiles on all. It stared off early today with trolling team one setting out their rods and the mast-man up and looking. It didn't take long for our first kelp to come into view. As we pulled up to our first kelp and lines went into the water the yellowtail rushed the boat and and ate our baits. After repeating that several times we got what we needed for the trip. What a way to end the trip! Everyone is breaking down their gear and the crew is ready to clean the boat as we are now headed for San Diego. Gunny and the Supreme Team!

Longtime charter company Burgesons Heating and Air experienced a good stop on 18-30 lb yellowfin as well as good Skipjack fishing. Back to open party fishing tomorrow. Please bring a 20 lb rod and a 40 lb rod.

4 bluefin 4 yellowfin 14 yellowtail. We looked at bluefin all day, they were just in a funk. Tomorrow is new day.
