Weather kept us new shore today, so we targeted Vermillion Rockfish. Worked out just fine.!

15 pass. 60 yellowtail 4 barracuda 9 kelp bass. We have switched our open party trips back to the Coronado Islands. Ticket price is $160. This includes your visitors visa, your fishing license and your biosphere bracelet.

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP REPORT 09-17-2020 It was a fair bite on the good grade tuna in the morning. We caught the only angler who didn't have a Wahoo one. And then went scouting. We where rewarded with a Boomer school of Dorado. We fished it for 45 minuets, Releasing most all fish. We kept only 14. Yellowtail tomorrow. See you then. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Tony “Big Delicious” LaDell with 4 of the 50 yellowfin we landed today. We also had 101 skipjack. Still plenty of fish around, all it takes is one stop.

Again another scratch fishing day with the usual mix of yellowtail, yellowfin, bluefin, albacore and dorado. No big numbers, we just scratched away. We spent the morning in the tuna area and mid morning to the end of the day we went looking for kelps and caught and released a lot of small dorado. The weather again has been excellent.

The most interesting thing is that everybody is getting albacore strikes anywhere they go. We are hoping the water will cool off in the next week and the albacore will start to group up and bite. Chef Jeff is still serving up some great food. An open faced steak sandwich for lunch and dinner was a superb cajun yellowtail filet and shrimp grilled with bell peppers and onions, served with fresh yellow squash, zuchinni and mushrooms and wild rice. It was really good. It looks like Alijos and the Ridge are starting off good. The crew and I are anxious to get down on a longer trip for some of those bigger yellowfin and wahoo. We still have a couple open spots on our 9-day departing August 28. And if your looking more into the future, Larry Brown still has some openings on his 10 day on October 25th. So come out and join me and the crew.

First things first !! I think a hearty Sportfishingreport.com congratulations are in order for J.J Gerritsen and the crew of the Apollo for their clean #1 sweep in annual SFR fishcount standings for 2006. Yellowfin Tuna # 1!!!!!!!!!!!, Albacore Tuna # 1!!!!!!!, Dorado #1 !!!! Very impressive numbers indeed !!!! Way to go guys, awesome year !!!!So when good friend and Santa Barbara local Doug Browand called and said a bunch of local firefighters and friends had chartered the #1 boat in the land for a little Island Freelance trip, I was packing my gear and clearing my schedule in a hurry. We loaded up on time and headed out of Sea Landing in Santa Barbara straight to Santa Rosa Island in case the squid and WSB wanted to show. J.J promised us some outrageous rockfish and lingcod action if the seabass were still MIA. We gave it a solid effort but with no signs of squid or WSB we motored up and headed out to some of Captain J.J's secret rocks and reefs. The first drift of the day produced monster reds and chuckles that rival some of the nicest and biggest rockfish I've seen and caught in many years. The Channel Islands Rockfishing is on Fire !!!!!! Throw a bunch of nice legal lings into the mix and you're talking a really fine day of fishing and a great time for all. The fishing at the Islands is only going to get better and J.J and the boys on the Apollo will be there fishing for them everyday. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-07-2019 Nice travel day today! Good weather good company and great food. Oh yeah little bit a napping and to. We departed today with nine anglers on a private 17 day charter. The bait we picked up is ok and the weather is beautiful. We dined on a wonderful roasted veal chop and are excited as the outlook from down below sounds great! Thanks for checking in. We'll keep you updated.
