Its 0430 all hands on deck!,

 

                                             Clint Cambell started our morning hooking and landing a 70 pound yellowfin tuna on a PL 68, a few other tuna were hooked and lost due to the arrival of the tax man but don't worry that only put a very small dent into our morning plan, we went into search mode but this time we had plan B going for us, yummy flyers on the troll and we started to put a few nice grade tuna aboard with Paul Hess putting a 115 pounder on deck! We ended up scratching up a nice day of tuna and wahoo.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in with an update from "The San Diego" out of Seaforth Landing. We have been fishing offshore for Bluefin lately but it is just not biting enough for us. So we are throwing in the towel! We will be fishing at the Coronado Islands tomorrow. Please be sure to bring your PASSPORT with you. Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an audio report from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We had EXCELLENT fishing today. We fished at the Coronado Islands and our group of 34 anglers caught 155 Yellowtail (up to 23 pounds).

The are biting the fly-lined baits really well and also the Yo-yo iron too. Anglers comfortable with surface iron fishing were also very successful. We are heading back out there tomorrow.

We had a nice hit on the wahoo before we had to pull anchor and head for home. This was a great group of anglers and we had a great trip. The weather however is not nice. It is going to be a rough bumpy ride. And the forecast for tomorrow isn't looking much better. We had a delicious fresh Mahi Mahi in a fresh basil pesto sauce with fresh vegetables and potato patties. We should be at the dock Sunday morning at 7am. Come down and see us.

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Hi friends. Well, we finally did it, we fished the tuna pens today. At first, we thought it was pretty cool; roll on in, find a school, and catch some. Well, after our initial whack for 17 bluefin, that was about it. The rest of our pen fishing was kind of lame as we never found another biting school. I can see what a real zoo this would be with fifty plus sportboats and skiffs out here. Anyhow, we're rolling on down to hunt for some yellowfin, bluefin, yellowtail, and dorado. Our weather is pleasant and we'll check in tomorrow.

We departed today on Garry Robert's annual 8 day charter. We picked up a load of just ok bait and headed down with our 20 excited anglers. Weather is good. As our anglers prepared their gear, Pedro prepared fillet mignon , prawns and twice baked potatoes. Tune in tomorrow for our next update.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an update from the San Diego. Today Captain Cameron ran the boat. We had 32 anglers catch 97 Yellowtail. We also had some Barracuda and Bonito. We have are having great weather today and in the near future.
