The Apollo had great fishing today. Limits of Red and Chucks including 24 Lingcod. Plus a nice bonus 24 pound Halibut. The weather is great, finally!

I have three more fishing opportunities on the Apollo. Berkley will sponsoring three overnight Channel Island trips. These will be sea bass and rock fish type adventures. There will be give aways and raffles on board compliments of Berkley and Pure Fishing. Everyone will receive goodies for fishing. Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA. Today we had Mexican limits of Yellowtail for our 37 anglers. We have been fishing offshore and the fish are a fun grade. Please bring your 25 or 30 pound bait rod. You should also be prepared with a heavy rod for bigger Bluefin Tuna. We are starting to see them show up in the counts. Tomorrow's trip is cancelled but we will be back out it Tuesday.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-13-2016 We had another fun day today! Today was a little different though most of the fun was catching fish not traveling. We had very good yellowtail fishing all day, we started off right at the crack of dawn with flurry fishing which progressed into a wide-open bite for several hours and then flurry fishing again! After a midday low it all started up again through the rest of the day. We were catching fish mostly on bait. Fly lighting was number one with dropper loop fishing coming in a close second. We didn't have a lot of jig fish but that probably was contributed to the fact that we didn't have anyone fishing jigs most of the time. Weather is excellent and were hoping to do this again tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in the Polaris Supreme Team!

Welcome back. We departed today on a 7 day trip. We're currently heading down the coast unsure of a starting point. We're in a good position as far as making a decision. We have a good spread of boats in different areas so we'll have a good check on the ocean. We'll either keep rolling down tonight or stop short for an afternoon of yellowtail fishing and take it from there.

34 yellowtail 33 bonito 100 red rockcod.  Myself and the crew would like to thank everyone who rode with us this year.  We will now shut down for approximately 1 month to do our annual maintenance.  See you next year.

47 yellowtail 29 bonito 6 calico bass. A couple of good shots today. Surface iron fishing is a technique that should be attempted once you are completely comfortable with your gear. I believe that you will enjoy fishing a lot more if you become very good at bait fishing first. Flylined sardines were the most productive today.
