"The bluefin are still biting," said Mike Pritchard. "It's 8:30 in the morning and we have outstanding Bluefin fishing. It looks like everybody in this area is doing very well on the Bluefin. It's a good time to hop on a boat."

Danny Erickson and his daughter with 2 bluefin and a yellowfin. After 8 hours of collecting Vitamin D in choppy seas. We stumbled upon an area and enjoyed some late action.

Capt Ryan called in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing called in to let us know they ran their first trip of the year today and what a day it was. We ended they trip with 125 Yellowtail for 38 anglers, very good fishing and the water temperature was 63 degrees. We caught fish on everything we tried from yoyo jigs, surface irons and dropper loops, with the dropper loops proving to be the most effective. We had some hard core anglers who stuck with the surface iron all day and did very well especially late in the day. The are two grades of fish down there, some are 5 to 12 pounds and the other were from 18 to 30 pounders. Today 50 of our fish were of the 5 to 12 pound range, 75 of the nicer grade. Very good fishing and the fishing is not easy we do a lot of driving around and looking, but when you get on the right school you can get a bunch really quick. Ryan Bostian called in from the San Diego with this report, "We're checking in live from the Coronado Islands, as of noon we have 14 Yellowtail on the boat. These fish are 15 to 25 lbs. They're located in shallow water so we are landing only about 1/2 of what we are hooking. Very good entertainment here this morning on a fly line sardine.

"We have a charter this Friday that has a few open spots. This charter will be departing at 4:00 AM. We are going to have plenty of fishing time on these Yellowtail near Coronado Islands. If you'd like to join us please call Dave at 619-207-7345. Things are starting to shape up at the Coronado Islands. Bill Roecker spoke with Polaris Supreme owner-skipper Tommy Rothery as he was leaving his slip at 12:30 p.m. Tommy said and Fisherman's Landing spokesman Robert Falcon confirmed that the permits to fish Guadalupe Island for shark boats and long rangers have been obtained. The papers are being flown in from La Paz to Tijuana, and are expected to arrive at 1:30. They will be available at 3 p.m. today. One of four boats departing today, Rothery's Supreme will come back to pick them up, taking some out for the other three boats. The permits are good for two years.

The Polaris Supreme returned from a 10-day trip with 31 fish over 200lbs! The top fish tipped the scales at 300.4lbs!

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. The water rolled at the Coronado Islands and the Yellowtail have stopped biting. We had 5 Bluefin Tuna today. We had 3 fish around 75 pounds and 1 fish weighing in at 120 pounds and the biggest fish was a 130 pounder.

The fish are biting fly-lined baits but they are really biting the Poppers. Make sure you bring you 50 pound out at a minimum.
We have seen some fishing pushing 200 pounds but we have not caught one of them yet!
