16 Yellowfin Tuna and 2 Bluefin Tuna for our repeat group today. Mike and his pals did just fine with the live sardine and #25-30 floro leader. We lost only 4 or so fish all day. Looking forward to getting back on it tomorrow. Welcome to Summer!!!

126 yellowtail 21 bonito. Come prepared with a yo yo rod and a bait rod. A few 6x jrs and a few 1 oz egg sinkers. Surface iron also produced for the seasoned Angler.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. Today we had 24 anglers catch 1 Yellowtail, 1 Bonito, 30 Barracuda and 44 Rockfish. We see schools of Yellowtail but most of them are totally addicted to one inch anchovy and difficult to hook. We are going to stick with the Islands for awhile and tomorrow is a definite go.

Hey guys, the yellowtail counts at the Coronado Islands have dropped a bit the past couple of days. There are a couple reasons for the slower fishing. First reason is the south wind we have had for the last two days. This south wind has dropped the water temp a few degrees therefore making the yellows a little less active. The second reason is the seal ions have stepped up there game. In the last three days we have lost at least 40 yellowtail to the lions. Good news is , the south wind is predicted to end by the end of today. Starting Tuesday we should start to see the water begin warming again. With the warming water the yellowtail should get more active making them easier to hook. With the seal ions acting as a tax collector it just comes down to the fact that we need to hook more fish. When we are hooking more fish both the seal ions and us can get our share. The best way to hook these yellowtail has still been a flylined sardine on 25 lb. test. The Coronado Island yellowtail have not gone anywhere , they are still there. We just need the water to warm a tiny bit so we can start catching them again. Look for better counts in the next few days. Today's photo is of a father and son with 3 yellowtail caught on Saturday. Quality family time in the outdoors is what it is all about !  Today was mostly a travel day for us.  We did have a nice little surprise in the morning.  We had a double jig strike on wahoo.  Then we had a couple more singles.  Then we had one more single a little later along with a few dorados.  When we got to the yellowtail grounds in the afternoon we found mucho wind.  It was blowing 25-30 knots right through the grounds we were planning on fishing so we fished elsewhere.  We found a little spot with some current before dark and we captured 6 cow yellows, we're talking 30-40 pounders, to go along with lots of 10-12 pounders and some bonito.  Action is what we call that.  We now have to head north and we'd like to find some dorado tomorrow.  It's going to be a bumpy/windy ride up tonight and we hope for it to back off tomorrow for our fishing and ride home.

Hello Everyone, Today we had our sights set on Yellowtail. We started the morning picking at great grade Yellowtail. Shortly after lunch it really turned on. We finished the day with a excellent Yellowtail catch. The Yellows were all great size, 18-25lbs. It was a great way to fill the remaining slots people had in their limits. All the fish were caught on YoYo jigs and dropper loops. We could not have asked for better December Yellowtail fishing to finish up our trip. We may have time to fish tomorrow for some Rockfish or Calico Bass. Hopefully we make good speed. Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme
