Good evening folks. We departed today after a very fast turn around on an 8 day trip. I'm back after 2 nights rest and ready to get back at it with Tommy at the helm. Good weather today along with good food, company, seminars, naps and just good old fashion relaxation mixed with anticipation. We're ready to go here. We're ready to get into battle mode. What we'll be battling is yet to be determined at this point in the night. We're still figuring out where we want to start this journey of long range sportfishing.

Polaris Supreme docked at Fisherman's Landing August 3 under skipper Drew Henderson's hand. There were 24 anglers aboard the five-day trip. "We had a good day on the one day the albacore were up," said Drew. "Then we fished kelps for dorado and yellowtail." Ron Chisum of Escondido won first place for a 32.4-pound albacore he got with a sardine on a 3/0 Mustad hook and 30-pound Ande line. He said he used a TLD 15 reel and a Calstar 270 rod. He brought his best dorado, a 25-pounder, into the lineup photo. Steve Taylor of Napa Valley tied for second place with Tom Connors of Escondido. Both had albacore of 31.8 pounds.

One stop late in the day accounted for all of our tuna. We ended up with 68 yellowfin 6 bluefin 29 yellowtail 7 bonito.

Bluefin Tuna! The Apollo will hit the dock around 6 PM tonight. They scored 16 Bluefin Tuna and 6 Yellowtail. That is the best score on the tuna this season. Call Fisherman's Landing now at (619) 221-8500 to book your spot.

Captain Mike Pritchard checked back in at 11:27 AM. We have been having tough conditions. We just landed a Bluefin Tuna that taped out at 133 pounds. We have nine fish on board. We have had a lot of lost fish. Getting them on the boat has proven to be difficult. Be sure to bring your heavy tackle. I would suggest 30#, 40#, 50# and 80$ outfits. Aug. 30

Not to much to report from the Polaris Supreme today. We did a tiny bit of fishing this morning. We were seeing little dabs of yellowfin where we were and the boats below us were seeing the same thing. Just a little bit of fish scattered around and stops for not much so we wound in the jigs and put the blinders up and traveled down the rest of the day. We did our wahoo seminar mid morning and after that it was a leisure day. Some slept, some made wire leaders and some just kicked back and enjoyed the lovely weather. Man oh man was it nice out today. Flat calm seas, super light breeze and warm. August must be coming to an end and we welcome that. What a cold windy month for us out here. Our speed has been poor and it's looking like we won't be arriving to our destination until after lunch.

SUPER LIMITED LOAD!!! Hi again friends. We have a trip coming up that need to fill a spot on. This is a super limited load trip with only 15 people. Fishing is still good. We got a good handful of nice grade tuna with most being around 100 lbs. and Matt got a 188 lb. and Bill got a 192 lb. The weather is excellent. Just beautiful. Pedro delighted us with a roasted chicken with a great cilantro sauce. Really yummy. And dinner with a superb grilled steak. It was another great day.
