Polaris Supreme Trip Report 10-24-2019 We had another log jam today on the kelp patties. Another great day of fishing Wahoo and what a beautiful grade of fish! Some real beauties in their. They look more like alligators than Wahoo. They definitely act like alligators when you hook one. We also had a good hit on the yellowfin tuna again this afternoon. The grade of fish was more like 20 to 45 it wasn't all 45 pounders. But still a good grade of fish! Were finished up in the lower zone here and need to start working north. Stayed late today so we will probably only have a few hours of fishing tomorrow if any looking for some yellowtail up the coast. Weather is still epic. We also spent about a half hour today catching and releasing beautiful grade Dorado. We didn't keep any! Will check in with you tomorrow on our way home after a short try for yellowtail. Fishing was not wide open today. The guys topped off with the yellowtail for the trip. They also had good fishing on the dorado on a couple of different kelp patties. Our weather continues to be great. As we travel home to make our 6:00am arrival tomorrow we will be dining on Pedro's exquisite prime rib dinner. Come see us at the dock or better yet book a trip and come out with us. Tomorrow we'll be heading out on Tom Chaparro's annual 5 day, 18 passenger, lite load charter. July 28
    Today we had about as good of yellowtail fishing as you can get.  Quality to quantity ratio, holy Toledo.  18-25 pound fish and they were biting pretty much as full speed as yellows bite for a couple hours and after that it slowed down but they were still biting well for a couple more.  If you have read my past reports you know that surface iron fishing on big yellows is my favorite kind of fishing and it was pretty much wide open on the surface iron.  Holy Toledo!  I'm not the only one who felt this way either.  We have a Polaris Supreme first timer on board, his name is Josh and he may love it more then me.  He named his dog after a surface iron.  Tady.  How cool is that?  We've had a tank of mackerel on board for about 3 weeks and we finally let them go today.  On hooks that is before getting eaten by yellows.  In the late afternoon ewe looked for bait and found some a couple hours before dark and caught a tank full of nice mackerel.  We restocked our supply.  We made a couple drifts along a kelp line while the sun set and tugged on a few calico bass and now we're headed up to fish tuna tomorrow.  Sweet dreams.

Our first day of Larry Brown's fathers day 5 day trip was spent offshore hunting the elusive albacore and blue fin tuna. We came up short. Although we were in good water most of the day, we did not find any tuna at all. Much travel needed to be done today to put us in position for our day tomorrow. Weather is good.

Capt Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute to report fantastic Yellowfin Tuna for our 33 anglers, we have 240 fish on board and still fishing. Our full day trip was turned into a 1/2 day trip due to rough seas. We did however get a couple of good shots and ended with 28 yellowtail. Looking forward to spending an entire day on the grounds tomorrow.

53 pass. 167 yellowtail 25 bonito. Small yo-yo jigs surface iron and live bait were all working. Bring your passports and fish the technique your most comfortable with.

Wow! What a great 8 day trip we just had here on the Polaris Supreme! It was great finally getting to fish that southern zone of Alijos Rocks and The Ridge! Over 200 great quality wahoo, red hot Yellowfin Tuna fishing, and awesome night time Yellowtail fishing. The action was nonstop! We cannot wait to get back down there! We currently have a 10 day coming up with some spots available. Be sure to lock in your chance at some great fall wahoo, tuna, yellowtail, and maybe even a day of cow tuna fishing!
