Chicago Lakefront Fishing Report

overcast again, wind picked up to 27 km/h, made it kinda rough. caught a 4 lb pike, which was awesome! used a spinnerbait that caught their eye in the murky water. temp around 9.1°C, but the fish were biting. gotta love the lakefront! can’t wait to hit it again soon!

super misty morning out there! fished the shoreline and got a couple of small bass, under 2 lbs though. was kinda chilly at 7.8°C, but I love fishing in the mist, feels mystical. used a topwater lure and it was cool to see them hit the surface! need to get out more often.

hit the lakefront this morning, partly cloudy and a bit brisk, only caught 1 small walleye... but it was a nice fight! around 8.5°C, used a crankbait that usually works but today was slow. wind wasn’t bad tho, around 14 km/h. maybe I’ll try evening fishing next time.

fishing was okay today, cloudy but not too cold. just some small bass around 2 lbs, released them all. used soft plastics on a jig head, nothing too fancy. max wind was mild, felt nice. probably gonna come back next week when it gets warmer to see if I can land something bigger!

it rained a bunch today, like seriously heavy at times. but hey, I landed a 6 lb catfish! was soaked but totally worth it. used a heavy worm rig. temp was around 21.5°C, and the fish were really active despite the rain. caught a few smaller ones too, good times! gonna dry out now.
