wow, what a day stuffed in the boat while it poured! caught nada, just spent the whole time debating whether we should head back or not. too cold for my liking. gonna try again tomorrow, this rain has to stop sometime, right??
took the canoe out early, temp was chilly but I was hoping for some bites. only managed to catch a couple small ones. had a wet, patchy rain but the vibe was nice, felt peaceful. maybe next time will be better. at least I saw some cool wildlife.
man, I forgot my rain gear but still went out. caught two nice largemouths, both around 4lbs, but holy heck it was windy! using a topwater popper, they were hitting it hard just before the downpours. had to get back to shore quick before I got blown away!
fished today around noon when the rain was light. got a decent mix of bass and bluegill, about 10 fish total. was using a light tackle setup with jigs and it worked like a charm. I felt so happy when my friend caught her first big bass, it was epic!
came back to chaumont in the rain, had the rain jacket on but still got soaked. hooked one nice channel catfish, weighed about 6lbs! used some stink bait. water was murky, but they still bit! needed more luck tho, but hey, at least I got one!
