The morning started our ok. We scratched yellows for about 4 hours and kelps patties. Little sign of dorado. As the day progressed it got tougher with few patties. Overall it was a slow day.

Our weather is still great. Tomorrow we our on our way to do some Island fishing. Wish us luck.

Polaris Supreme docked at Fisherman's Landing August 26 under Drew Henderson's hand. The 24 anglers aboard had been fishing for five days, most of them at Guadalupe Island, where quality yellowfin tuna and yellowtail were caught. Matt Wheaton of Laguna Beach won first place, for a 57.8-pound tuna. He said he bagged it with a sardine on a 3/0 Mustad hook and 40-pound Izorline. He used a TLD 30 reel and a Calstar 700 H rod. Alan Romspert of Fullerton caught a 56.8-pound tuna, and tied for second place with Bruce Chisholm of Temecula. Floyd Spangler of Anaheim stood in with the winners in a lineup shot with his 35-pound yellowtail.

Capt Mike Pritchard of the Tribute called in with a early morning update, they are off to a fantastic start to the day with over 50 Yellowfin on board already up to 30 pounds and some really nice Dorado.     Judging by how our trip has been so far, if you would have told me we would have 6 bluefin as of 1:00 this afternoon I wouldn't have believed you.  But sure enough, those darn bluefins were laughing at us.  We saw plenty of them but they didn't give two you know whats about us.  Our buddy Brian on the Spirit Of Adventure called us and told us he was seeing the 30-50 pound grade around where he was so we took a little ride down there.  It wasn't really biting that well until we got there.  Again our timing is on.  For the next few hours it was game on.  It actually took a while to get them to bite but during the best of it I couldn't get the balloon rigs out fast enough.  They were snapping!!  We ended up with a couple rounds of the 30-50 pounders with one going around 90 pounds and we also got a handful of 30-35 pound yellowfin there as well.  

    After it dried up we went looking for another.  We found several schools but none that would hang around and bite our baits.  Around 6:30 we bumped into another school that stuck and we picked up 21 more of those beauts.  And now we drift and do it again tomorrow.  

    The chefs are getting better and better at there sushi spread.  This afternoon it was terrific and I'm pretty sure I heard it's veal chops for dinner tonight.  Sweet dreams.
                                

 

We arrived at noon and had a good hit on the 80-100 lb tuna, but we didn't see anything bigger. Weather is sloppy again, but got nice in the afternoon when we went looking around. So we will keep looking for the big ones and check back with you tomorrow.Thanks,Tommy and crew

Hello everyone, Today we spent the day tuna fishing. It was very difficult at times, weeding through all the skip jack and small tuna. However our efforts paid off when every once in a while with a nice yellowfin. Throughout the day we were able to scrape up a great catch of yellowfin tuna. We know there is Wahoo around and we will be trying for them tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Captain Mike Pritchard checked in this afternoon with an update from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We are currently on a 1.5 day trip with 10 anglers. We have limits of Bluefin Tuna (20) up to 70 pounds. We also have some Yellowtail too. The Tribute is ONLINE at Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA.
