Polaris Supreme Trip Update 09-12-2019 Fun morning fishing for yellowtail today everybody got to pull on a couple and it was nice quality. Again our weather is beautiful and everybody had a great day. Were off traveling up the line for home the rest of the day and probably going to make a shortstop tomorrow for a little fun table fare! Add a little color to our fish. The Polaris supreme crew!

Captain Mike Pritchard checked in tonight with an update from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA.  Sorry for the late report tonight.  We found a school of Bluefin on the way home and let them have it!  We ended our day with 9 Bluefin and 18 kelp grade yellowtail.

 Hello again everybody. I hope everyone enjoyed a lovely Labor Day today. I know we sure did. It's hard not to with the kind of weather we're having right now. We could have not caught a fish today and we'd still be enjoying it. That's not how it went though. It went as planned. I knew we wouldn't have the kind of day we had yesterday. Wahoo fishing doesn't work that way. They need a rest after a whoopin. I told the passengers we'd stay until lunch and if we caught a quarter of what we caught yesterday we'd be stoked. We caught more then a quarter of what we caught yesterday and we're stoked. Distance wise it didn't make since to stick it out until dark for a few more handfuls of wahoo as apposed to leaving at lunch like we did to get into tomorrows fishing grounds at a reasonable hour. So we took off at lunch time and we'll be in the yellowtail grounds tomorrow at daylight. At least I'm hoping it's the yellowtail grounds.
 

Capt Ryan called in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing called in to let us know they ran their first trip of the year today and what a day it was. We ended they trip with 125 Yellowtail for 38 anglers, very good fishing and the water temperature was 63 degrees. We caught fish on everything we tried from yoyo jigs, surface irons and dropper loops, with the dropper loops proving to be the most effective. We had some hard core anglers who stuck with the surface iron all day and did very well especially late in the day. The are two grades of fish down there, some are 5 to 12 pounds and the other were from 18 to 30 pounders. Today 50 of our fish were of the 5 to 12 pound range, 75 of the nicer grade. Very good fishing and the fishing is not easy we do a lot of driving around and looking, but when you get on the right school you can get a bunch really quick. It was a nice warm sunny day traveling today. There is still a pretty good swell with a wind wave on top of it, but it has swung behind us and our ride is great. The guys spent the day relaxing except for George and Craig who spent the afternoon doing laps around the deck and push-ups. They probably felt they needed to work off all the home cooking we have been eating today. Huevos Rancheros for breakfast, chicken fried steak for lunch and dinner, beef stroganoff. Of course sashimi for hors d'voures. Twenty four more hours to go. See you tomorrow.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 09-30-2019 A few Wahoo a little bit of grouper drifting and of course lots of small yellowfin and skipjack. We never did connect today with a better grade yellowfin. And Wahoo fishing was slow. Same weather conditions going on we had rough weather all afternoon but by midnight it had calmed down nicely. Going to be doing a little yellowtail fishing on the coast tomorrow. Hopefully in some good weather! The Polaris supreme crew!

The San Diego finished today with 23 yellowfin 42 skipjack. Still plenty of fish out there. Make those reservations.

Today our 24 anglers landed 7 bluefin tuna from 70-85 pounds. First time anglers, seasoned anglers, captains, crewmen and all the way up to our office personnel. Nobody is off limits when it comes to the frustration and lack of sleep that a bluefin can create. However, if you stick with it, come prepared and keep an open mind. You will eventually be rewarded with a fish of a lifetime.
