catalina island Fishing Report 2024

We are headed south at the moment. Today will consist of mainly rigging and prepping. Primarily for Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo. We are looking for kelps today to keep them honest but our main focus is on making good speed for tomorrow.

We had an absolutely wonderful day fishing today. We had the most flat calm weather and the tuna fishing was as good as it gets. It was all offshore on sonar schools and meter marks. The fish were all 20-32 lbs. and few bigger. It was a good day to be on the water.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in to report the totals for today's trip to the Coronado Islands. We had 45 nice sized yellowtail. Please bring your 40 or 50 pound outfits. You can book online at Seaforth Sportfishing. The boat is departing again tomorrow at 5:30 AM. Let's go fishing!

We gave it the Dark till Dark effort and came up dry. We did however see multiple very nice schools of yellowfin that were not interested in our hooks.

Good Morning everyone, Today we departed on our Simpatico 6 day charter. We hustled and had a nice early start to our trip. We decided to start fishing kelp patties for Dorado and Yellowfin. We found a school of Dorado that bit extremely well. They were a bit on the small side, but the action was RED HOT none the less. Tomorrow we are hoping for Tuna. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Captain Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute last night updating us about the 1.5 day trip returning this AM. We had 72 Yellowtail (up to 40 pounds), 13 Bluefin Tuna (up to 30 pounds), and 7 Dorado. Today our 24 anglers landed 7 bluefin tuna from 70-85 pounds. First time anglers, seasoned anglers, captains, crewmen and all the way up to our office personnel. Nobody is off limits when it comes to the frustration and lack of sleep that a bluefin can create. However, if you stick with it, come prepared and keep an open mind. You will eventually be rewarded with a fish of a lifetime.

103 yellowfin 12 yellowtail 1 skipjack. After hours of driving without hardly seeing a scale we found the right school at the right time. Never give up!
