  He made the right move.  Tommy that is.  We came, we saw, we conquered.  I told you we'd be at The Island today.  It was good.  We had good fishing.  We arrived after breakfast, and found a little something  to work with but we could tell it just wasn't it.  So we looked around and we found "It".  Premo's.  Premiums baby and lots of them.  We had one heck of an afternoon on premium grade yellowtail.  When we say that we mean a mid to upper 20 average.  Slug yellowtails.  You never get used to it either.  Every time someone brings one over the rail it's like, "dang those things are beauts"!  And that's all I have to say about that.  A very full hold of slugs and then some.

  Once again we can not get one to bite the surface iron.  The past few trips have been prime surface iron conditions.  We have the Big Banana out(the long pole) but we can not get Banana crazy.  Weird.

  

We're going to try and get our tuna on the next couple of days.  If we happen to bump into some more YT's along the way then ok.  That'll be alright.  The fleet for the most part has been off the mexican yellowfin the last several days and we're going to try and get back on them.  It's sounds like there has been an impressive amount of fish being seen up above in the U.S.  It doesn't bite on a consistent basis yet but that's soon coming.  It bites fairly often but I have a feeling the fleets in for some very good fishing in the near future.  I'm not necessarily trying to get you to book, but come on, book.  There may be a spot or two left.
        

We have a few open spots on this weekends 2.5 day charter to Colnett and surrounding areas! We had good signal on yellowtail this last trip, and ended up with 55!! To go with wonderful rock fishing and shallow water lingcod!! These trips are set to early depart at 5pm for maximum fishing time!! Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-25-2019 We got off on a nice early start on Joe Becks annual eight day trip. We have 24 happy smiling anglers excited to get at it and throw some fish on board. The bait we picked up at the receivers to complement what we already have on board looks good (although small) . Our weather is great the wind we have is out of the south which is not normal but it's good going. Have you ever heard of the term it popped up overnight? It happens in the desert around Thanksgiving for the four wheeling off-road enthusiasts. You see it happen in the desert with the snowbirds in the fall time were huge motor home and trailer communities pop up. It happens at Coachella and Burning man. And yes it happens on the Polaris supreme too. Last night there was no sign of them. But this morning there's a full blown rod forest on the back deck! The boys are enthusiastic to say the least. The Polaris supreme crew.

Owner skipper Tommy Rothery docked his Polaris Supreme August 28 after a five-day Bob Vance charter. The boat's 24 passengers saw a great night-bite at Cedros Island. "We had great fishing at the islands," reported Rothery at Fisherman's Landing. "Good quality yellowtail throughout, and we found some nice yellowfin up to 40-pounds." Steve Pistone of West Hills won first place with a 49.4-pound Benitos yellowtail. Steve fished a ‚Дтdine on a 4/0 Owner Gorilla hook, 30-pound Ande line, a Pro Gear Albacore Special reel and a custom jig stick rod. "I was amazed," Pistone admitted. "I never would have thought he was going to be that big. It was only a 10-minute fight, not long at all. My daughter probably would have got jackpot at Guadalupe, but the shark took a chunk out of her tuna." Chris Mohs of Ventura was second for a 40.4-pound yellowfin, and Kub Ito of Harbor City took third for a 38-pound yellowfin. The Supreme will be heading out on a nine-day charter today, said Rothery.

Today we had a good morning hit on the Tuna and Yellowtail. We were able to fill in the cracks for the people who still needed Tuna and also be selective for the larger models. After that we spent the day working up. picking up a few more Wahoo, Grouper, and larger Yellowtail . We will be focusing on Yellowtail tomorrow.

We had full speed fishing today offshore on kelp patties. However for the most part, the yellowtail and dorado we were catching were small. So we released all but a few. We did however get some nice grade yellowfin. No big hits, but good action as we picked away at 30 lb. yellowfin. Jeff prepared a great Cajun chicken with avocado, mozzarella and fresh salsa for lunch. And as we head in tonight he is serving us steak and lobster. We will hit the dock tomorrow morning at 8:00am. We will be departing tomorrow on an 8-day trip with "The Old Wild Bunch" headed up by Le Roy Belardes. Strong south wind made things interesting today but we’re able to find a lucky kelp in the bottom of the ninth. We managed our quota of green dorado and 16 yellowtail.

 The fishing was very slow for us this morning.  We caught nothing.  Of course that was due to us not fishing at all.  We were in full travel mode trying to make our destination shortly after lunch which we did and from here on out for the foreseeable future we're fishing baby.  So we were hoping to have a hit on wahoo.  The last boat that was in here caught 20 or 30 in a couple days and we thought they were moving in.  Maybe they were.  When we got here there were two boats already trolling it up.  Bad sign for wahooing.  We ended up getting one on the marauder and another 4 drifting.  Nice ones too.  5 lucky anglers.

 The tuna fishing was good.  Not wide open.  It looked really good on the machines but we could only scratch at them.  It was still plenty good to start off our trip and get us going. We tagged about 4 per rod this afternoon so definitely good fishing. No yellowtail though unfortunately.  We were hoping for some of that but we never saw one.  So we're making a move to look for more yellowtail to go along with the tuna we're catching.  We're going to do at least one more day here if not two before moseying on down to look for cows.

 The weather has been great so far.  Rolly this morning with offshore wind but that straightened out.  We had an action packed afternoon which is just what we needed.  See you tomorrow.
