37 anglers, 10 yellowtail, 18 bonito, and 48 rockfish. We will be at the dock for the next few days while our first real weather rolls in.  We are online till the end of December. Make those reservations.

Hi friends. Not too much to report today on the Polaris Supreme. After the completion of lunch, all we did was pull on bluefin tuna, dorado, and yellowtail. Granted, the dorado's were shin slappers and the yella's were neck ties, but we did weed out a handful of nicer onces and kept the BFT's a comin'. We did see a couple flurries of that smaller 12-15 lb. fish, but for the most part, our grade was a solid 25-30 lb. grade, and they bit very well too.

To give you an idea of how good fishing was, and for some reason, I'm still kind of buzzing about this situation, but after monitoring the anglers on the bow for a while, I couldn't help but toss a line out, as there were boils ten feet from the boat and the angler participation was starting to dwindle as the end of the day was upon us and the cocktails were beginning to flow. Anyhow, I was soaking a bait for a bit, chattin' it up with an angler to my left, and here comes another angler to the bow with a fish that's close to gaff on my right. So, I grabbed a gaff, put my rod in the gaff holder, in gear, and told the angler "If this gets bit (pipe dream), grab it and swap out your rod for the hooked up one." About thirty seconds later, as my anglers fish was getting ready for the death-shot, I hear "Hey Richie! Something is--uh--happening!" Low and behold, the gaff rig is full bendo with line screaming off of it. Wowza! For all this "Bluefin require a stealthy approach and light line", we hooked one up with a half dead bait, in gear, sitting in the rack. Bottom line, excellent fishing. No reason to not tell a little story that I thought was pretty hot.

So that's it. Pretty easy decision for tomorrow's activities as we're going to put out the "sack" and try have a repeat of today tomorrow. Hopefully we connect with a morning bite on the bag and don't have to pull it first thing at 0530 hours. Our weather is just okay, a little breezy and choppy but plenty workable conditions. We'll chat with you tomorrow.

Hello everyone, Today we are supremely sore from pulling on fish. The morning was spent catching a handful of Wahoo, some Grouper, and a bunch of Yellowfin Tuna. When the afternoon rolled around we went looking for Dorado, and found them. It was a excellent grade, and everyone caught as much as they wanted. Very good fishing. We will be targeting Wahoo and Grouper tomorrow. Wish us Luck, Team Supreme

This morning was slow and the weather was rough. We lost a couple of nice fish because of the weather, but as the afternoon came so did good weather and really good fishing. Roger got a pair of bookends now as he landed another big tuna weighing in at 255 lbs. Most of the fish were 120-170 lbs. Fun afternoon. Dinner was an incredible roasted duck, my favorite. We are hoping for good weather and more great fishing tomorrow.

Ahhh yes. It's fitting that Sirius XM 90's on 9 is bumping Ice Cube's hit "Today Was A Good Day". Oh yes, and just like Mr. Cube, we messed around and got ourselves a triple-double. Daily limits of yellowfin in the 30-50 lb. class, 33 bluefin tuna of a mixed grade but most were 30-40 pounders, and we rounded our day out with 17 flatheads. We had a jig strike at about 0600 hours and didn't move the boat until well after lunch. Just plunkin' away with some really heavy flurries now and then to really jack things up. Excellent fishing on quality gamefish is what we do. Like Mallory, our resident 16 year old girl from last trip said to me "get on my level, bro!" Kids. Where do they come up with this stuff? Anyhow, our level right now is Sonny Jim status. Straight ballin' and if everybody was on our level right now, the world would be a much, much better place. We're pumped and Tania and the dudes are done wore out.

Good weather, good fishing. No reason not to do this again tomorrow. We'll be trying for squid tonight and see if we can't get ourselves a few and put them to good use tomorrow like we did today. Have a great night and a splendid tomorrow -- and remember: somebody on the Polaris Supreme loves you.

The skinnys got some speed! Today was definitely a grind, but it eventually did ignite! We were able to catch some large Wahoo today. Wahoo fishing was a first for many people on this charter. Today they got to see first hand how crazy and fast pace it could be. However through the chaos they realized truly how exhilarating these fish are to catch. Will report tomorrow, Team Supreme

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-22-2016 Today was the same but very much different. It was the same in that we woke up very tired from nighttime fishing for yellowtail last night, it was the same in that we had excellent Wahoo fishing today, it was the same in that we had great weather. What was different was the way we caught the Wahoo. It was all on the anchor. So now we have caught Wahoo on the anchor, Wahoo drifting when they wouldn't bite the jigs, and Wahoo in giant shark Malays trolling. And one other different thing we had great fishing on tuna today. We haven't seen them for a couple days but today they did us right again. We're going to start working up the line and aren't sure if we going to have any time to fish left. We got a long ways to go home! It has been an absolutely fantastic trip in absolutely beautiful weather with a great great group of anglers who are now going to take some long long naps traveling home while breaking down their Tackle. Hey guys, the yellowtail counts at the Coronado Islands have dropped a bit the past couple of days. There are a couple reasons for the slower fishing. First reason is the south wind we have had for the last two days. This south wind has dropped the water temp a few degrees therefore making the yellows a little less active. The second reason is the seal ions have stepped up there game. In the last three days we have lost at least 40 yellowtail to the lions. Good news is , the south wind is predicted to end by the end of today. Starting Tuesday we should start to see the water begin warming again. With the warming water the yellowtail should get more active making them easier to hook. With the seal ions acting as a tax collector it just comes down to the fact that we need to hook more fish. When we are hooking more fish both the seal ions and us can get our share. The best way to hook these yellowtail has still been a flylined sardine on 25 lb. test. The Coronado Island yellowtail have not gone anywhere , they are still there. We just need the water to warm a tiny bit so we can start catching them again.
