46 bluefin 6 yellowtail. One stop can make or break your day, and today we were one of the lucky ones. Flylined baits on 30-40lb line and a size 2-1/0 hook worked best. We still recommend having a 40-60lb rod to fish either a sinker rig or jig.

We had some short range trips online and were able to catch a good amount of school sized fish and 3 jumbo tuna! Including the First 2 cow tuna to come aboard the Polaris Supreme in 4 years!

Drew Henderson docked Polaris Supreme June 11 after a three-day trip. He fished offshore kelp paddies to find a good catch of small yellowtail, a bluefin tuna and an albacore. Dale Goss of Lakewood got the bluefin and first place, as his tuna weighed 31 pounds. He enticed it with a sardine on a 2/0 Hayabusa hook. He fished with 30-pound Big Game line, a Daiwa H 40 reel and a seven-foot Sabre rod. Manvel Miuasyan of Van Nuys was second, for a 21-pound yellowtail, and Scott Tucker of Riverside was third, for a 17-pound yellow. Josh Evans of San Francisco got the albie. He trolled a cedar plug in natural wood color to land his longfin.

Excellent fall action on lake pacific. 9 yellowfin 2 dorado 2 skipjack and limits of yellowtail.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 12-03-2018 So that nasty old wind is gone! It's only about 2 to 5 kn between Guadalupe and Ensenada right now. I hear you guys have another storm coming in to California on Tuesday! Hopefully that won't bring the wind and swell for our ride home on Thursday night through Saturday morning! Oh yeah fishing! Fishing was good today, it started off at sun up and continued into the dark. It was kind of a steady pick all day except for a little lullishness during mid day. Our big fish today was around 110 pounds. Most of the other ones were in the 70 to 90 pound range. The hot stick still continues to be 50 or 60 pound Spectra/Mono/some guys are using floral carbon with a 3/0 hooked. The sharks continue to be absent and we don't miss them one bit. We will be here again tomorrow hoping for another big day! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Good morning everyone, Just finished off loading our bounty from our beck five day charter, and man what a trip! I would like to thank Joe Beck for again putting together another successful trip. Year after year we always look forward to taking you guys out! Today we depart on our Sadie Hawkins 3 day trip. A great 3 day filled with many great fisherman and lady anglers. Captain Mike Pritchard called in at grey light from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We caught 2 Bluefin Tuna at grey light. We have one fish hanging. Tommy Rothery docked his Polaris Supreme at Fisherman's Landing August 22 after the season's best tuna trip to Guadalupe Island. There were 24 anglers aboard the first Dan Heil Memorial trip. "I felt like he was there with us," said son and chartermaster Ron Heil. "He would have really enjoyed this trip." Tuna fishing was excellent for the group, so much so that Rothery was able to give the spot up to Art Taylor and the Searcher. "We had plenty of tuna," said Tom, "all we needed. The sharks got some of them." Steve Patterson of Grants Pass won first place for a 103-pound yellowfin. "My best tuna ever," he said. Patterson used a sardine on a 4/0 ringed Gorilla hook tied to 40-pound P-Line and 65-pound Izorline Spectra backing, on an Avet LX reel and a Rogue Rod of seven feet. "He slaughtered me," added Patterson. "I couldn't get my new rod off the rail. He tore up the cork and the diamond wrap." Don Pieper of Arroyo Grande was second for a 72.6-pounder, and Buddy Bales of Spokane, WA won third place, for a 72.2-pound yellowfin tuna. The season's 12th wahoo from Guadalupe was included in the catch.
