Buckeye Lake Fishing Report

finally had a sunny day on the 24th! took a break from the rain and got out there with my kayak. caught a nice 6lb largemouth on a chatterbait, felt like a champ! the sun made a huge difference. saw a lot of action and ended the day with 4 more good bass. my best day this month for sure!

fished on the 23rd, patchy rain but hey, the fish don't care! got a couple nice bluegills, decent size, 1-2 lbs. used some live bait and they were all over it! brought my kid along and we had a blast just chatting and enjoying nature. weather was kinda bleak but the fun made up for it.

may 22nd was another wet one but i decided to hit the water. started slow but ended up pulling in 2 smallmouths around 2 lbs. they were biting better when I switched to a buzzbait! still, it was super windy so not the easiest day. got soaked, but it was awesome to be on the lake.

the 20th was a rainy mess but I headed out anyways! rain jackets don't always keep ya dry but I got some bites! caught a nice 4lb walleye on a spinner, felt great! couldn’t stay long tho because the storm rolled in harder, but I’ll take that one for sure! I love fishing Buckeye, rain or shine!

ok so May 9th was a bit of a bust. overcast skies and cold temps made things tough. only managed to get one small bass, maybe a pound, and it was just barely. i tried my luck with some topwater lures, no luck tho. maybe next time, right? hope it warms up soon!
