 And we're off again.  This time for 8 days.  We got a pretty good jump at things today.  We cleared the point at lunch time which keeps our options open on where we can fish tomorrow and the next day.  I'm still not sure where we'll be tomorrow.  I may not be sure until I wake up in the morning and look at the hurricane coming up from below the cape.  As it's forecasted now, it's definitely going to effect our decisions on where we'll fish this trip and when.  But don't worry at home, we'll keep a safe distance from the dangerous winds at all times.  Find out tomorrow where I decided to start fishing.
        
 

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-11-16 Today we are going to start out our report by telling Carla Studley that her husband Tom Studley would like to tell her he loves her and has been happy to have been married to her for so many wonderful years. Happy Anniversary Carla and Tom! After writing that last sentence I just found out that Mark and Eve on board are having an anniversary today! Congratulations to you two also! Well on to fishing. I don't know where they came from I'm glad they did we just had a great day Wahoo fishing! What a great place to celebrate your anniversary for Mark and Eve catching Wahoo on board the Polaris supreme! At least you get the benefit at home Carla with Wahoo tacos Wahoo Almond Dean and what ever delicious dish you can come up with. We have great weather and are having a fantastic time out here we are hoping the Wahoo are going to stick around inside here like they were today, that would be fantastic to do this two days in a row! Hey guys:

I'd like to check in and give you guys a recap of our last week at the Coronado Islands as well as prepare you for what you can expect this week. This is the time of year when surface fish are the target species. Yellowtail , barracuda , calico bass , sandbass and white seabass are all on the menu right now. Most of our trips last week we caught between 5-15 yellows 50-150 barracuda and 30-70 calico bass. An area of squid has moved into the island area and some of our trips have started out jigging live squid to use for bait. Squid jigs will be provided by the boat if we decide to stop for squid. Having the live squid opens up a few more options for us.

I want to give you guys a list of rods and reels you should bring out this time of year. One 15 lb. rod with a bass rod and reel like a Calcutta or curado for fishing anchovies and plastics for calico bass and sandbass. One 25 lb. or 30 lb. rod for fly lining sardines . One 30 lb. rod for fishing a live squid with a small sliding egg sinker. The fourth outfit is optional and it is a 40 lb. jig stick for fishing the surface iron.

While everyday is different on the ocean and we need to be prepared for a variety of fish this time of year. These 4 outfits will have you prepared. A wise man once told me " the definition of luck is when preparation and opportunity collide".

The Apollo scored limits of nice grade Rockfish today at San Miguel Island. The Apollo will be running OPEN PARTY Overnight trips every Saturday night. Give them a call and fish the Outter Channel Islands fishing for White Seabass in the morning and Rockfish in the afternoon.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-09-2016 Hello and good evening fisherman. Its not just a tough day for the Polaris Supreme but its a tough day for the fleet. We started our morning by slowly picking away at the yellowtail. It wasn't just tough to get bit but it was even harder to keep your fish from going into the nasty rocks. We then decided to switch to plan B and explore some uncharted waters for the rest of our day. We ended up bring aboard a handful of small yellowtail and dorado. We are now heading to an area where we will be targeting white seabass and premium sized yellowtail. We should be arriving there a few hours before gray light. Tight lines, Team Supreme

Captain Andrew Viola checked I with a wrap-up from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing.  Our first trip was a success..  We had a mix of Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna.  Including action on 50 pound Bluefin Tuna. We did have a few bigger models too.

We are happy to be back at it and we look forward to fishing with you this Summer.
