SUMMERTIME CONDITIONS ! Hey guys. Two days ago the water at the Coronado Islands was hovering right around 60 degrees and the fishing was slow. Conditions started improving rapidly yesterday afternoon and subsequently so did the fishing. Today we went out with 43 anglers and captured 25 calico bass 58 barracuda and full Mexican limits of sandbass. While we did not manage to catch any yellowtail today, we did however enjoy steady action from start to finish. I took a photo of our temp gauge for all you yellowtail hunters out there. With water temperatures like this. It won't be long before the yellows get back on the bite. Be here the day it happens, not the day after !

 We have another two day online leaving Saturday June 29th. Come fish in comfort.

We caught 60-100lb Bluefin Tuna along with some school sized Yellow fin and Yellowtail on our father’s day 2 day.

Conditions seem to be improving for Bluefin Tuna fishing within the past couple days. The fish are more willing to bite for those who are willing to put their time in.

40, 50, even 60lb test mono,  floro carbon, with a designer 1/0 hook has been the go to outfit size for the grade of tuna around. However even though the 60-100 lb fish is the main size we have been seeing, the 100-200lb fish are in the area as well.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-29-2016 Hello good morning anglers. We are already fishing this morning and have four yellowtail to our credit. We have a nice current and are waiting for things to start happening. We left yesterday afternoon with Tom Chaparro's annual five day charter with a limited load of 18 anglers. It is really quite the joy to be able to fish with such a light load on the boat. Most of Tom's guys have been out with us before and are anxious to get at it. We had a nice prime rib dinner last night and Tom and the boys gave our friend Herb Yamanaka a custom-made Oregon Duck's colored raped rod as a thank you for his many years of creating wonderful wood working's in the form of bowls cups salt shakers you name it he made it from different exotic woods and has given them out every trip. I haven't gotten a picture of the rod yet but as soon as Herb catches a fish will make sure you see pictures of both. Thanks for tuning in Tommy and the crew.

Hi friends. We departed early this afternoon on an open party two-day trip with a nice load of folks hoping to find themselves on some gamefish come Saturday. We have a lot of new folks on this trip and a lot of familiar faces joining us for the weekend, so we're pumped. Our gameplan is to run a little below the area we were fishing on Thursday as there were some schools of Bluefin seen and we'll try our luck at some kelp paddies as well. Anyhow, our weather is very pleasant and our passengers are in good spirits and we'll be fishing at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning, Hopefully, we'll awake to a big ole, fat school under the boat, ready to eat. Rolling up! Today we had to leave the peaceful waters of the Island to start making our way north. The sea is rolling us around for the course we need to take. Overall it is a smooth ride so far. Good morning everyone, Today started out slow. A slight wind and a racing current made it it difficult to fish in the early morning. However by around seven o clock a switch turned on and the yellows wanted to chew. The sea came alive with eager mossbacks. Eating everything but really keying in on the surface action. The fly line sardine and surface iron really were the super stars today. We were really able to pick off these yellowtail as they made their rounds crashing around the boat. We stayed busy all morning until lunch time when we had to pull it and head north. What a great half day of fishing! Really makes you appreciate days like today when it all comes together and everyone is able to catch fish. Will report again tomorrow, Team supreme

Good evening everyone. We raced down throughout the night and into the morning time to arrive to our desired location in the late morning. It took us a while to get things figured out and at around 1030 hours, we saw them, stopped the boat, and like a light-switch (get it San Diego?), things lit up and the corner came alive. Bluefin tuna rushed the stern getting so close that Jed was mere inches from free-gaffing one. They were as hungry as we've ever seen Bluefin and for the short time frame that the fish popped up, we took full advantage of it as our group did work on the Bluefin, a few handfuls of Yellowfin, and a Dorado. For a while there, the whole boat was bent over on tuna. Every bait on the corner resulted in a tuna, easy fishing. We picked away at them one, two at a time after our rush until things dried up, and that was pretty much our day as we drove around trying to locate something fresh. The fish seemed to get lock-jaw towards the end of the day for us but we were still beaming about our mid-morning stop. Other boats in the area had the same type of deals, some more than others, but all in all, it was a good day down here at the trusty Bluefin/Yellowfin grounds. No shortage of fish around here, that is for certain.

So we're headed up the line in nice weather. A little bit of swell but the wind that slapped us in the faces this morning has vanished. Hardly a white-cap out here, beautiful weather and the forecast shows more of the same coming up for out 2 day trip leaving tomorrow afternoon. There are a couple spots still open so call Susan at (619) 390-7890 to book a spot. We'll be departing at 1:00 pm, traveling all day and night to the tuna grounds to arrive in the very early morning hours, fish all day until dark, and then arrive the next morning. The general opinion on this fish is that they will float this evening so we'll have a full day down here to get them located. We're excited about the prospects so give Susan a call ASAP. We'll arrive to the docks tomorrow morning around 0800 hours. Take care.

Hi friends. Well, our move paid off to go kelping out in right field. We hit a few kelps throughout the day and after weeding through the shaker yellowtail, we were rewarded with some quality yellowtail and dorado currently chilling in the RSW. The gang had themselves a real ball and we're hoping with the good weather forecasted, we'll be able to get on a few schools of tuna tomorrow and finish up the Joe Beck/Bob Vance trip with a bang. We're traveling up the line to hopefully drift up some squid later on tonight. Wish us luck and we'll chat with you tomorrow.
