umpqua river Fishing Report 2024

 Good morning to you all from over here on the Polaris Supreme. As I write this I'm on watch at 2:40 in the am. We arrived from our 4 day "Let's Talk Hook Up" trip this morning and as soon as the RP was out of our way we off loaded a beautiful catch of yellowfin and 30-40 pound Bluefin. Jackpots went 96, 68, and 43 I think it was. Close enough. We did a super fast turn around. We smoked team galley that's for sure. Things at the bait receivers went well and we were back at it again yellowfinin it. It wasn't some crazy start like it had been lately but judging by some of the counts we were hearing we were very happy with what we got. We got spoiled these last few days with the power counts out here that when things got back to normal, which is still good, it seems slow. We ended up with a couple rounds of mostly the upper grade of yft and we're currently drifting in lovely sea conditions and we're ready to go at it again tomorrow.

 Tommy is back out here with us so in a way, it's like having a trip off. I'm not stuck here in the wheel house all day thinking of my next move. I spend lots of time down hanging with the customers and being a goof ball with Mark. I love running the boat but like I said, sometimes it's nice not to have to think so much out here. The Apollo checked in with 162 Albacore today. They've had some excellent fishing with beautiful weather. The fish are still on the chew, call Fisherman's Landing for details and to check their schedule. (619) 221-8500

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP REPORT 09-16-2020 We had a good morning on good grade tuna, spent mid day catching small to medium grade yellowtail and the afternoon scratching away at the good grade tuna. Our weather is a little windy today! We miss our calm seas! Trying for tuna tomorrow! The Polaris Supreme Crew! P.S. Sorry no tuna pics. too busy during the bite. Sunday, September 30th, 2012 -- Departure report.

Hi friends. We departed at 1800 hours on yet another 1.5 -day trip. After last trips bait, I was deathly concerned about what type of load we were going to get and to all of our surprise, we received a healthy and plentiful load of bait. We'll see how it fares throughout the night into tomorrow but for now, I'm pleased with those little critters. Hopefully, we put them to good use tomorrow.

For tomorrow, we'll be hitting the local grounds to try our hand a little closer to home. I'm excited about the prospects of finding something decent but I'm more excited about our weather outlook. Our program is showing five knots or less for the morning and afternoon so we're hoping the weatherman calls it right and Mama Nature gives us a break from yesterdays beating.

Anyhow, we're munchin' on some prime rib and getting our tackle put together. We'll be looking for a school in the dark to shut down on and we'll take things from there. Wish us luck and we'll chat with you tomorrow.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 10-20-2019 The Polaris Supreme arrived nice and early yesterday with the AHI Charter unloading a beautiful catch from down south plenty of Wahoo beautiful grade Tuna and Dorado! We were able to get out nice and early on our eight day open party trip with a fun group of regulars. Our traveling down was good yesterday as well as it is today. Of course the usual seminar on tackle and technique with a lot of rigging napping and eating some good food is going down today. Because of our early departure and making good speed we should be into the fishing grounds at a good hour tomorrow. Things sound a little scratchy at the moment but it looks like it has good potential for improvement. That's all for now we will check in with you tomorrow after hopefully a good day of fishing. Hello everyone, Today we wanted a Yellowtail topper, and a yellowtail topper we got! By no means wide open, but enough yellows to keep everyone busy for a half a day. The hot ticket was the famed blue and white 6x yo yo iron, tried and true for years and still holding strong today. All and all a nice day of yellowtail fishing to round out a great fall 7 day variety trip. It was really something catching Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado, and Yellowtail all in one trip! Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, so after our great Yellowtail topper we pointed the boat northbound to San Diego. We are very far from home so we have another day of travel ahead of us tomorrow Another successful trip logged away here aboard Polaris Supreme! Will report again tomorrow, The Supreme Team. Rosemont Media private charter brought out 21 passengers and they “made them pay”. They landed limits of yellowfin before noon. We recommend having a rod to fish 30-50lb test when the tuna are eating everything in the water.
