Polaris Supreme Trip Report 12-02-2018 We got into Guadalupe Island with about two hours to fish before dark. The school we got on was not large but we managed to hook several nice fish the biggest one being 135 pounds. The two boats fishing the island while we traveled down today had probably one of the best days of the year. Super stoked and excited for tomorrow! Weather is of course excellent at the island . We will be checking in tomorrow evening after hopefully an awesome day. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this morning at 9:27 AM with the update from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We are off to a great start. Very good Bluefin Tuna fishing. We have 15 Bluefin Tuna and 1 Yellowfin Tuna (about 40 pounds). We have a very light load of only 9 anglers. We need 3 more Bluefin for out limit. We have a few first timers who got there first Bluefin Tuna We have a trip departing tonight. Call Seaforth at (619) 224-3383 to book a spot on the Tribute.

The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego,CA checked in with us today:

23 yellowtail and plenty of bottom grabbers. Full sized yo-yo jigs on 40-50lb line worked best.

Fishing and the weather is still excellent! However we have had our fill of those albacore so we are heading south for some dorado and yellowtail. Dinner tonight was incredible. Pork with some amazing yummy sauce. Susan said we still have a couple of opening on our next two trips. Take some time off and come out and get into some of this action

I had such a great time fishing with Captain Ryan Bostian and his crew aboard the San Diego that I couldn't resist jumping aboard again for another shot at some of those big Coronado Island yellows. There are big schools of yellowtail roaming the Coronado Islands and recent fish counts have been ranging anywhere from just a few fish to 70-80 fish per trip. No sense trying to figure it out. Pick a day and go !!! Captain Bostian and the San Diego fish the Coronado Islands everyday, so nobody knows them better or fishes them harder than the Captain and his crew. We looked for and caught a few barracuda along the coast as we made our way down to the Coronados. We worked several areas of both islands looking for a school of yellows that wanted to stay with the boat. We saw plenty of action around the boat and would hook one or two yellows at each spot, but we could never get them to bite aggresively. We landed 10-11 nice yellows highlighted by Aiyana Schwartz's huge jackpot yellow that she hooked on a dropper looped sardine. All in all a great day on the water with an excellent chance at catching a trophy fish. The Coronado Islands are about to break wide open and Captain Bostian and the crew aboard the San Diego will be there. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-22-2016 Good evening. Today was spent offshore all day. It didn't take log to start seeing sign right after day break. Everything certainly looked promising. Many many spots of both bluefin and yellowfin tuna just about everywhere we looked. These things just seemed to have a case of lock jaw. We threw everything except the kitchen sink at them, but just couldn't them to bite let alone stick with the boat. We have high hopes for a great closing day tomorrow. The fish is around, just a matter of finding the right one to shut down on. We'll check back in tomorrow for our final trip report. Tight lines, Team Supreme

73 yellowfin tuna 3 skipjack tuna. We were minutes away from bailing on our area after our first 3 schools swam away without biting. The words from my old boss Ed McEwen “never leave fish to find fish” once again proved to be spot on. A cooperative school late in the day made all of our frustration fade away.

The old timers used to say “ wind from the south, fish close their mouth”. Today we had a brisk south wind all day and the yellowtail were a bit off. We saw plenty of fish and managed to land 83. Flylined baits and yo-yo jigs were the best today.
