Ryan Bostian called in from the San Diego with this report, "As it stands right now we are only about 30 miles from homw and we have about 150 Yellowtail on the boat, 6 Bluefin tuna & 6 or 7 Dorado.  Hello all.  Things went smooth today at the landing.  We got in first, pre 5:30 AM and we had our peops on by 7:30 with our last climbing aboard before 9:00 and we were gone.  Gone to the bait receivers.  I was sure of what we were going to get.  Straight 2 day old sardine.  I told everyone we'd be fishing our way down to the wahoo grounds.  It's hot water down there so I didn't want to bring that bait down there too soon in case it would all die.  But things were different at the receivers.  They had that little mackerel we got a couple trips ago.  So we loaded up with that because I'm pretty confident it will live good in that 80+ degree water down below.  So as of now, we're headed straight down  to the wahoo/tuna/yellowtail/dorado grounds.  At least we hope it is.  We'll start down there and if we have to work back up to make a catch we will but hopefully we can just make a trip of it down below.  So that means we travel today, tomorrow, and arrive the following day hopefully by mid morning.  We'll see what kind of speed we make.

 Today was nice.  We hauled but in the morning, but after getting bait and putting her on course, the rush was over.  We have been fishing the first day out on every trip since early August, so this is quite the treat not fishing today.  We love to fish over here but just relaxing, not having to rush to get the seminar done and rushing to get the loaner tackle out was really nice.  I took a nap.  It was pretty cool.  I'm showered, rested and just sitting here writing to you folks.

 

Aug 7
 Well, our best fishing today came from the zone where all of our offshore fishing has been this year.  No surprise there.  I wish we would have stayed in that zone longer, but for the past week, anyone on there last day of there trip has been complaining about there speed going up.  "Oh it's soo slow", "we're driving through mud", "make sure you give yourself plenty of extra time", etcetera, etcetera.  So we planned on that.  We fished with our watch today.  But that never happened.  We never did slow down.  Unfortunately, by planning on it, it put us in this years desert zone.  The zone with no fish.  Beautiful water, no fish.  But things have to change right?  Right.  Just not today.  Oh well.  At least our first 2 days were good ones.  Oh, and the weather was good.  That always helps.

 We'll be in tomorrow and Tommy will be coming back out for 5.  I'm going home.  What will I do?  Spend every minute with my beautiful daughter except for the 4 1/2 hours spent on the golf course.  I will miss writing to you folks though.  I enjoy telling you what's on my mind.  I sugar coat nothing.  See you all in 5 days.

Hello Supreme fans, Today we had a great day of fishing on quality Wahoo and some nice Yellowtail mixed in. The yellows were a great surprise, but didn't come without many casualties. The yellows were big and strong, they had a mission for the rocks from where they came. Rocking many individuals. If they however were lucky enough to make past the rocks the sharks were waiting eagerly above to get their chance at our prized yellowtail. Needless to say the fish that made it through the gantlet were big and highly celebrated. All and all a well rounded and exciting day. Large Wahoo and Yellows were there for the taking. It was very exciting trying to get the targeted fish on the boat through all the obstacles the sea had to throw at us! Cannot wait for tomorrow! tight lines, Team Supreme

Good Morning Everyone, Today we had great Dorado fishing! Lots of small grade Yellowtail and Tuna as well. Not Seeing much in the way of Wahoo, even though the conditions look great. Hoping we find those Wahoo tomorrow, Team Supreme

Another day of albacore fishing was productive again today. We had a little over a hundred today but seemed we should of had a lot more. A lot of non biting schools. Where have we seen that before all year? Oh yeah, right there. We're now heading to the south to fish offshore kelps for yellows and dorado. Weather is good. A big ground swell but not much wind on it. Lunch was awesome, some sort of salmon dish and dinner I couldn't even name so I won't try but it was fantastic. By the way, the albacore are all fatties. 30-40 pounders.

SUMMERTIME CONDITIONS ! Hey guys. Two days ago the water at the Coronado Islands was hovering right around 60 degrees and the fishing was slow. Conditions started improving rapidly yesterday afternoon and subsequently so did the fishing. Today we went out with 43 anglers and captured 25 calico bass 58 barracuda and full Mexican limits of sandbass. While we did not manage to catch any yellowtail today, we did however enjoy steady action from start to finish. I took a photo of our temp gauge for all you yellowtail hunters out there. With water temperatures like this. It won't be long before the yellows get back on the bite. Be here the day it happens, not the day after !
