Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from “The San Diego” out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay! Today we had 34 passengers catch 7 Bluefin Tuna (20 to 55 pounds) and 12 Yellowtail. We had several heartbreaks on 75 to 120 pounders. Please bring a 25 to 30 pound rod as well as a 50 pound rod. After a 5+ hour drift we pointed for home with 50 bluefin(20-60lbs) and 42 yellowfin(15-35lbs). Never know what we might see on the ocean. Bring rods to fish 20-40lb line and size 4-2/0 hooks.

We departed today on Eric Rogger's annual 5day trip. We have an excellent group of anglers onboard and picked up some great looking bait. The fishing prospects are looking good and we are anxious to go. We started rolling down to Cedros dinning on some terrific beef and shrimp kabobs, in some great weather. Last trip Drew got some huge yellowtail there. But reports from the albacore grounds got a lot more interesting so we did a 150 degree right turn and headed for the albacore. We will be there tomorrow at daylight. Fishing sounds really good.

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute called in a very enjoyable fishing report, we ended with 99 Yellowfin Tuna, 9 Dorado and about 40 Skipjack Tuna. We got on a kelp late and had to leave them biting, the weather was has been great and looks like it will that way for the rest og the week. We do have some spots on upcoming trips, our Wednesday trip is a go for sure and we have some room on most other dates. Sunday, October 14th, 2012

Today was a travel day for us on-board the Supreme. Well, it was a half-travel, half-fishing day. We completed our seminars after breakfast and once the seminar wrapped up, chartermaster Joe Gigliotti handed out the goods. Everybody received various t-shirts from Accurate Reels, Five-Star Fish Processing, and Magnaflow Exhaust Systems, and everyone also received various jigs, line, and other tackle items. The big winners of the raffle were Steven Lowe, who won an Accurate reel and Charles Tasselli, who won a Calstar rod. Congrats to Steven and Charles and a big thank you to Joe for hooking us up with not only a bunch of Accurate gear for everyone to try out but for the gifts as well.

Anyhow, in our travels we managed to catch a few handfuls of really nice dorado for the galley and the gang also threw a few tags on them as well. We also caught a few tuna for the galley but most of what we caught was released to fight another day. Other than that, it was just a day of closing the distance from point "A" to point "B". We'll be to point "B" sometime in the morning and we'll see what we can do with a good load of bait, a veteran group of anglers, and some good weather ... for now.

We're currently monitoring Tropical Storm Paul and his whereabouts and we'll base our decisions on what his path decides to be. We'll take things one day at a time. With that, we say good night and we'll hit you up tomorrow.

Sep. 11

So here's the deal. We had a good finisher today. We started bright and early with coffee and stuff and then got on a school of those 30-40 plus pounders. It didn't stick longer then for us to get a couple handfuls. Then we had more coffee and stuff and then we had another school of those bf's that treated us the same. Then Shawn was ready to serve lunch but before Tommy could give the announcement we got on a school of 15-20 pounders that bit well for us. We didn't hang out long. We caught a couple rounds worth and then gave the school to our friends on another boat. Then we searched for another school of those bigguns but never found it before we were out of time. We did find another school of the 15-20's and finished our time on those. They were biting good. It was a lot of fun.

After that the crew enjoyed a boat scrub while the passengers enjoyed naps, movies, champagne, wine, cocktails, soda pop, and some relaxation with friends. A fantastic trip with a beautiful day on the weather side of things too. Sunny with not much wind. Nice. Thanks Robin and friends. Until next time. P.S. Its in range of our 2 dayer.

The season's fourth 300-pound tuna arrived November 29 aboard Polaris Supreme with owner-skipper Tom Rothery at the helm as the 90-footer docked at Fisherman's Landing. The trip was 13 days for the boat and ten for the anglers who flew home from Cabo, and was sponsored by Rothery's partner Tom Pfleger, who heads PIER (Pfleger Institute of Environmental Research). A small group of 14 anglers including Pfleger was aboard.
